Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans are composing the music for the upcoming Netflix original series Ozark. The show is created by Bill Dubuque (The Judge, The Accountant) and stars Jason Bateman, Laura Linney and Julia Garner. The drama takes place in the dark and dangerous world of drug-money laundering and revolves around a financial planner, his wife and their family’s sudden relocation from a Chicago suburb to a resort community in the Missouri Ozarks. Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the period drama Tulip Fever. The album features the film’s original music composed by Danny Elfman (Batman, Spider-Man, Alice in Wonderland, A Nightmare Before Christmas, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). Dino Meneghin has been hired to score the upcoming action comedy Why We’re Killing Gunther. The film marks the directorial debut of actor Taran Killam and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bobby Moynihan, Cobie Smulders, Paul Brittain, Hannah Simone and Ryan Gaul. Killam also wrote the screenplay and appears in the movie, which follows a group of eccentric assassins who are fed up with Gunther, the world’s greatest hit-man and decide to kill him. John Paesano has been tapped to score Marvel’s upcoming Netflix original series The Defenders. The show is developed by Douglas Petrie & Marco Ramirez (Daredevil) and stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist, all of which are reprising their roles from their own shows. Élodie Yung is also starring as Elektra Natchios. The 8-parter based on the Marvel Comics characters takes place a few months after the events of the second season of Daredevil and follows the superheroes as they team-up in New York City. Evan Lurie is reteaming with actor/director Stanley Tucci on the upcoming drama Final Portrait. The film is written and directed by Tucci and stars Geoffrey Rush, Armie Hammer, Clémence Poésy, Tony Shalhoub, James Faulkner and Sylvie Testud. The movie is based on James Lord’s book A Giacometti Portrait and centers on Swiss painter-sculptor Alberto Giacometti who died in 1966 and is best remembered for his stark and surrealistic sculptures. Silva Screen Records has announced The Game of Thrones Symphony album, which features new recordings of the show’s original music from the HBO hit series composed by Ramin Djawadi (Westworld, Iron Man, Pacific Rim, Warcraft, Clash of the Titans). The symphony was recorded with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. Check out a video from the recording of one of tracks after the jump. The album will be released digitally on February 24, 2017. A physical version is also in the works. The pre-order links will be added to this page soon.
