Danny Elfman has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming superhero movie Justice League. Junkie XL aka Tom Holkenborg who co-scored Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice for the DC movie universe was originally scoring the film before director Zack Snyder left the project. Joss Whedon is overseeing additional photography is beginning this week in London. Elfman has previously collaborated with Whedon on Avengers: Age of Ultron. Justice League starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher and Jason Momoa will be released in theaters nationwide on November 17 by Warner Bros. Pictures. Armory Films announced today that T Bone Burnett will be producing the soundtrack for the upcoming drama The Peanut Butter Falcon. The film is written and directed by Tyler Nilson & Michael Schwartz (The Moped Diaries) and stars Shia LaBeouf, Dakota Johnson, Zachary Gottsagen and Bruce Dern. The movie follows a down on his luck crab fisherman as he embarks on a journey to get a young man with Down syndrome to a professional wresting school in rural North Carolina and away from the retirement home where he’s lived most of his life. Steven Price has been tapped to score the upcoming action thriller American Assassin. The film is directed by Michael Cuesta (Kill the Messenger) and stars Dylan O’Brien, Michael Keaton, Sanaa Lathan, Shiva Negar, Taylor Kitsch and Scott Adkins. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Vince Flynn and follows Mitch Rapp, a CIA black ops recruit and Cold War veteran Stan Hurley who are enlisted to investigate a wave of apparently random attacks on both military and civilian targets. Stephen Schiff (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps), Michael Finch (Predators) and Edward Zwick (Glory, Legends of the Fall) & Marshall Herskovitz (The Last Samurai) wrote the screenplay. ‘Dodgeball’ Reunion Charity Video Features Music by Theodore Shapiro

Theodore Shapiro has composed the original music for a charity video, which features Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Justin Long and Christine Taylor reprising their roles from the 2004 comedy hit Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, which the composer also scored. The short, which co-stars Missi Pyle, Jamal Duff and Brandon Molale is directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (We’re the Millers, Central Intelligence) who helmed the original feature and promotes a charity dodgeball event. Donations benefit The Stiller Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports children around the world by providing educational opportunities to help them realize their full potential. Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for Colin Trevorrow’s drama The Book of Henry. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Michael Giacchino (Up, Lost, Ratatouille, Star Trek, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Doctor Strange) who previously scored the director’s Jurassic World. Intrada Records has announced the world premiere CD release of the soundtrack albums for the Fox docu-series Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey executive produced by Seth MacFarlane, Ann Druyan, Mitchell Cannold & Brannon Braga and hosted by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. The albums feature the show’s original music composed and conducted by Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Cast Away, The Avengers, Captain America: The First Avenger), including bonus tracks that were not featured on the digital soundtrack release, which came out back in 2014. Disney XD has premiered the main titles for the upcoming reboot of the animated series DuckTales. The titles sequence features a new version of the title song from the classic series written by Mark C. Mueller. The track is performed by singer/songwriter Felicia Barton and produced by Emmy-winning Michael ‘Smidi’ Smith and the show’s composer Dominic Lewis (The Man in the High Castle, Free Birds, Money Monster, Rough Night). The song will be released by Walt Disney Records on Friday, June 23. DuckTales is developed by Marc Youngberg and features the voices of David Tennant, Bobby Moynihan, Ben Schwartz, Danny Pudi, Kate Micucci, Toks Olagundoye, Beck Bennett, Tony Anselmo and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
