Fox Music has released a score album for the documentary Step. The album features the film’s original music composed by Laura Karpman (Paris Can Wait, Black Nativity) and Raphael Saadiq (Underground, Insecure). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. As previously reported, Columbia Records has released a separate soundtrack featuring songs from and inspired by the film, including the original song Jump co-written by Karpman & Saadiq, as well Taura Stinson. Lorne Balfe has composed the music for the upcoming action thriller The Hurricane Heist. The film is directed by Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious) and stars Toby Kebbell, Maggie Grace and Ryan Kwanten. The movie follows a team of tech hackers embarking on a $600 million robbery from a coastal U.S. Mint facility at the same time a Category 5 hurricane is set to strike. Robert Duncan is reuniting with writer/producer Shawn Ryan on the upcoming CBS drama S.W.A.T. The show is developed by Aaron Thomas inspired by the 2003 feature of the same title (scored by Elliot Goldenthal) and stars Shemar Moore, Stephanie Sigman, Alex Russell, Jay Harrington, Lina Esco, Kenny Johnson and Peter Onorati. The series follows a locally born and bred S.W.A.T. sergeant who is torn between loyalty to the streets and duty to his fellow officers when he’s tasked to run a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. The movie a woman who is held captive in a futuristic smart house and hopes to escape by breaking into the computer programs that control the house. Noga Landau wrote the screenplay. David S. WaterTower Music will release a new soundtrack album for the HBO hit series Game of Thrones. The album features selections of the music from the show’s seventh season composed by Ramin Djawadi (Westworld, Pacific Rim, Iron Man, Clash of the Titans, Warcraft, The Great Wall). Anders Niska & Klas Wahl (Blackway, Farang) are composing the show’s original music. The full details of the soundtrack album for the action thriller American Assassin have been revealed. ABC Australia has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Mountain. The album features the film’s original music composed by the film’s musical director Richard Tognetti, as well as works by Chopin, Grieg, Vivaldi and Beethoven & more recorded for the movie and performed by the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the fantasy adventure The Dark Tower directed by Nikolaj Arcel and staring Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey, Tom Taylor, Claudia Kim, Fran Kranz, Abbey Lee and Jackie Earle Haley. The film’s original music is composed by Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) (Mad Max: Fury Road, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Black Mass). Also opening wide is the action thriller Kidnap directed by Luis Prieto and starring Halle Berry. Federico Jusid (The Secret in Their Eyes, Misconduct, Black Butterfly, The Hunter’s Prayer) has composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album is in the works.
