Four new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:

Expected to top the weekend box office is the shark thriller The Meg directed by Jon Turteltaub and starring Jason Statham, Li Bingbing, Rainn Wilson, Ruby Rose, Winston Chao, Page Kennedy, Robert Taylor and Sophia Shuya Cai. The film’s original music is composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek, The Martian, Kingdom of Heaven, Man on Fire). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Click here for the full album details.

Also opening wide is the supernatural horror thriller Slender Man directed by Sylvain White and starring Joey King, Julia Goldani-Telles, Jaz Sinclair, Annalise Basso and Javier Botet. Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Westworld, Iron Man, Pacific Rim, Clash of the Titans) and Brandon Campbell (The Thinning) have composed the film’s original score. ‘Deadpool 2’ – Super Duper Cut Soundtrack Album Released

Columbia Records has released a soundtrack album for the Deadpool 2 Super Duper Cut, which includes 15 minutes of additional footage not included in the theatrical version of the film. The album features the content of the original soundtrack album for the movie, as well as six additional tracks, including The Osborne Brothers’ Love Hurts, Guignol & Mischief Brew’s Fight Dirty, Steve Miller Band’s Fly Like an Eagle, Jordan Smith’s performance of Ashes, Teamheadkick’s Deadpool Rap (X-Force Remix), and a track from Tyler Bates’ score. ‘A.X.L.’ Soundtrack Details

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the sci-fi family adventure A.X.L. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ian Hultquist (Assassination Nation, The Gospel According to Andre, Animals, Ivory Tower, My Blind Brother). The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 24, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon and iTunes (deluxe edition). A.X.L. is written and directed by Oliver Daly and stars Alex Neustaedter, Becky G and Alex MacNicoll. The movie revolves around a top-secret, robotic dog with advanced artificial intelligence created by the military who is discovered hiding in the desert by a kind-hearted outsider who finds a way to connect with him after activating his owner-pairing technology. ‘Searching’ Soundtrack Released

Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album for the thriller Searching. The album features the film’s original music composed by Torin Borrowdale. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Searching is co-written and directed by Aneesh Chaganty and stars John Cho, Debra Messing, Joseph Lee and Michelle La. The movie centers on a desperate father searching for his missing teenage daughter. ‘Mr. Robot’ Volume 5 Soundtrack Details

Lakeshore Records will release a new soundtrack album for the USA original series Mr. Robot. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s third season composed by Emmy Award winner Mac Quayle (American Horror Story, American Crime Story, Feud: Bette and Joan, Pose). The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 17, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released four soundtrack albums featuring the composer’s music from the first two seasons. Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the Paramount Network original series Yellowstone. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Brian Tyler (Fast & Furious series, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3, Now You See Me, Thor: The Dark World), including the composer’s main titles theme. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 17, 2018 (visit Amazon to order the album) and physically (as an Amazon on-demand CD-R) on August 31. Details Revealed for ‘It’s Always Blue: Songs from Legion’ Soundtrack Album

The full details of the new soundtrack album for the FX original series Legion featuring the cover songs from the show have been revealed. Writer/director/producer Noah Hawley and composer Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery, The Night Of, Mile 22) have created the cover versions of songs such as Jefferson Airplane’s White Rabbit, Cream’s White Room, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ Don’t Come Around Here No More, R.E.M.’ Superman & others. It’s Alway Blue: Songs from Legion will be released digitally on August 17, 2018 by Lakeshore Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon and iTunes (deluxe edition). A vinyl version is also in the works. ‘More Music from the Further’ Album Announced

Void Recordings has announced a new soundtrack album for the first three movies in the Insidious series. The album features 27 previously unreleased and developmental score pieces from the first three movies in the supernatural horror series composed by Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Annabelle). More Music from the Further will be released digitally and as a vinyl edition on August 17, 2018 and will be available to order on Amazon within the next few days. The label has previously released soundtrack albums for the original Insidious movie, as well as Chapter 2 and Chapter 3.
