Four new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the shark thriller The Meg directed by Jon Turteltaub and starring Jason Statham, Li Bingbing, Rainn Wilson, Ruby Rose, Winston Chao, Page Kennedy, Robert Taylor and Sophia Shuya Cai. The film’s original music is composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek, The Martian, Kingdom of Heaven, Man on Fire). Also opening wide is the supernatural horror thriller Slender Man directed by Sylvain White and starring Joey King, Julia Goldani-Telles, Jaz Sinclair, Annalise Basso and Javier Botet. Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Westworld, Iron Man, Pacific Rim, Clash of the Titans) and Brandon Campbell (The Thinning) have composed the film’s original score.
