Opening nationwide this week is Pixar’s animated feature Coco directed by Lee Unkrich & Adrian Molina and featuring the voices of Gael García Bernal, Anthony Gonzalez, Benjamin Bratt and Renée Victor. The film’s original score is composed by Michael Giacchino (UpInside OutThe Incredibles). Kristen Anderson-Lopez & Robert Lopez (Frozen), Germaine Franco (Dope) & Molina contributed original songs to the movie. Rob (aka Robin Coudert) has been hired to score the upcoming Netflix and BBC mini-series Troy: Fall of a City. The show is created by David Farr (The Night Manager, Hanna) and stars Louis Hunter, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Christian Schoombie, David Gysai, Lex King, Bella Dayne, David Threlfall and Frances O’Connor. The 8-parter retells the story of the 10 year old siege of Troy and focuses on the story’s origins: the judgement of Paris, his scandalous love affair with Helen and and the ill-starred prophecy surrounding his birth. La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for James Cameron’s 1997 classic Titanic starring Leonardo Di Caprio & Kate Winslet. The 4-CD set features the remastered and expanded original score, including previously unreleased music and alternate cues, from the movie composed by James Horner (Braveheart, Avatar, A Beautiful Mind, Aliens) who received two Academy Awards for work on the drama. The 20th Anniversary Edition is limited to 5000 copies and will be available to order on the label’s website this coming Tuesday. La-La Land Records has announced the first-ever release of the unused score for Francis Ford Coppola’s 1979 classic war drama Apocalypse Now starring Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Martin Sheen, Frederic Forrest, Albert Hall, Sam Bottoms, Larry Fishburne and Dennis Hopper. The music is composed by David Shire (The Conversation, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, Zodiac, Return to Oz). Howlin’ Wolf Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 2010 family comedy drama Christmas with a Capital C. The album features the film’s original music composed by Edwin Wendler (UnnaturalI Spit on Your Grave: Vengeance is Mine, Dead Ant) and performed by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and the Illumni Men’s Chorale. Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for Fatih Akin’s drama In the Fade. The album features the film’s original music composed by Queens of the Stone Age member Joshua Homme. Also included are songs by Faith No More, Lykke Li, Queens of the Stone Age, Courtney Bartnett & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally overseas tomorrow, November 24. A physical version is set to come out next month. In the Fade is written and directed by Akin and stars Diane Kruger, Denis Moschitto, Numan Acar and Johannes Krisch. Roger Neill is scoring the upcoming family drama A Kid Like Jake. The film is directed by Silas Howard and stars Jim Parsons, Claire Danes, Ocatavia Spencer, Ann Dowd, Michaela Watkins and Priyanka Chopra. The movie follows a Brooklyn couple trying to raise their 4-year-old-son who prefers to dress up as a princess instead of G.I. Joe. Daniel Pearle wrote the screenplay based on his 2013 stage play. ‘Ferdinand’ Score Album Details

La-La Land Records and 5 Cats Studios will release a score album for Blue Sky Studios’s animated movie Ferdinand. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award nominee John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity, Shrek, X-Men: The Last Stand, Bolt, Ice Age: The Meltdown). Matthew Margeson is reteaming with director Jeff Wadlow on the upcoming supernatural thriller Truth or Dare. The film starring Lucy Hale, Tyler Posey, Violett Beane, Nolan Gerard Funk, Hayden Szeto and Sophia Taylor Ali centers on a harmless game of “Truth or Dare” among friends that turns deadly when someone – or something – begins to punish those who tell a lie or refuse the dare. Jason Blum (Get Out, Split, Paranormal Activity, Insidious, The Purge) is producing the project through his Blumhouse production company.
