Sony Masterworks will release a soundtrack album for the NBC television event Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert. The album features the songs from the TV special written by Andrew Llyod Webber and Tim Rice and performed by John Legend, Sara Bareilles, Alice Cooper and other cast members. The soundtrack will be released on April 6, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert based on the 1971 Broadway musical is executive produced by Webber, Rice, Marc Platt, Craig Zadan & Neil Meron (Hairspray, Chicago) and revolves around the last week of Jesus’ life, told from the perspective of infamous betrayer Judas Iscariot.
