WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack album for the shark thriller The Meg. The album features the film’s original music composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek, The Martian, Kingdom of Heaven, Unstoppable, Man on Fire). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 3 and will be available to download on Amazon. The Meg is directed by Jon Turteltaub and stars Jason Statham, Li Bingbing, Rainn Wilson, Ruby Rose, Winston Chao, Page Kennedy, Jessica McNamee, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Robert Taylor and Sophia Shuya Cai. BSX Records will release a soundtrack album for the documentary Death of a Nation. The album features the film’s original music composed by Dennis McCarthy (Star Trek: Generations, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, MacGyver) who recorded his score with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by John Beal. Joseph Bishara has been hired to score the upcoming supernatural horror thriller The Prodigy. The film is directed by Nicholas McCarthy (The Pact, At the Devil’s Door) and stars Taylor Schilling, Jackson Robert Scott, Peter Mooney, Colm Feore and Brittany Allen. Composer Matthew Margeson is reuniting with director Dexter Fletcher on the upcoming biographical drama Rocketman. The film stars Taron Egerton as Elton John, Jamie Bell as Bernie Taupin, Richard Madden and music manager John Reid, as well as Bryce Dallas Howard as John’s mother. The movie explores John’s emergence as a prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music to becoming a music superstar and his partnership with songwriting collaborator Taupin. The show is created by April Blair (Reign) and stars Daniel Ezra, Taye Diggs, Samantha Logan, Bre-Z, Greta Onieogou, Monet Mazur, Michael Evans Behling, Cody Christian and Karimah Westbrook. The series tells the story of a high school football player from South Los Angeles who is recruited to play for a school in Beverly Hills. Blair is also executive producing the Warner Bros. Fajar Yuskemal and Aria Prayogi have composed the original music for the upcoming Netflix original movie Apostle. The film is written and directed by Gareth Evans and stars Dan Stevens, Lucy Boynton, Mark Lewis Jones, Bill Milner, Kristine Froseth, Paul Higgins and Michael Sheen. The thriller follows a man who travels to a remote island in search of his missing sister, who was kidnapped by a murderous religious cult. La-La Land Records has announced a soundtrack album for the 1988 Mission: Impossible revival series created by Bruce Geller and starring Peter Graves, Thaao Penghlis, Tony Hamilton, Phil Morris, Terry Markwell, Jane Badler and Bob Johnson. The album features selections of the original music from the show composed by Lalo Schifrin (Dirty Harry, Rush Hour, Enter the Dragon) who wrote the classic Mission: Impossible theme and Ron Jones (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Family Guy). The 2-CD set is limited to 1988 copies and is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples.

Dustin O’Halloran and Hauschka (aka Volker Bertelmann) have signed on to score the upcoming comedy drama The Art of Racing in the Rain. The film is directed by Simon Curtis (My Week with Marilyn, Goodbye Christopher Robin) and stars Milo Ventimiglia, Amanda Seyfried, Gary Cole, Kathy Baker and Ryan Kiera Armstrong. The movie is based on Garth Stein’s best-selling novel of the same title and centers on a family dog (voiced by Kevin Costner) who evaluates his life through the lessons learned by his human owner, a professional race-car driver. Stein & Zach Lipovsky and stars Sadie Stanley in the title role, alongside Sean Giambrone, Alyson Hannigan, Todd Stashwick, Taylor Ortega, Connie Ray, Ciara Wilson, Erika Tham and Issac Ryan Brown.
