Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album for the Swedish/Danish biographical drama Becoming Astrid (Unga Astrid Lindgren). The album features the film’s original music composed by Nicklas Schmidt (Department Q: A Conspiracy of Faith) who recorded his score with the Budapest Film Orchestra. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Becoming Astrid is directed by Pernille Fischer Christensen and stars Alba August, Trine Dyrholm, Maria Bonnevie, Henrik Rafaelsen, Magnus Krepper, Björn Gustafsson and Maria Fahl Vikander. The movie tells the true story of a character-defining period in the life of Pippi Longstocking author Astrid Lindgren and follows a teenaged Astrid as she struggles with being a young, unwed mother. The album features a selection of the songs from the show by artists such as Snoop Dogg, Alison Krauss & Robert Plant, Emily Wells, The Acid, Mark Batson, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Sylvan Esso & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 30 and will be available to download on Amazon. Composer Samuel Sim is reuniting with writer/producer Rob Williams on the upcoming BBC drama The Victim. The series is written and created by Williams and stars Kelly Macdonald, John Hannah, James Harkness, Jamie Sives, Karla Crome, Ramon Tikaram, Cal MacAninch, Chloe Pirrie and Isis Hainsworth. The track, entitled Everything I Need, is written by Grey and Elliott Taylor and is featured in the movie directed by James Wan and stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Nicole Kidman, Ludi Lin and Temuera Morrison. The film is written and directed by Ridley (12 Years a Slave, Guerrilla) and stars Orlando Bloom, Freida Pinto, Leslie Odom Jr., and Cynthia Erivo. The movie is based on a short story by Robert Silverberg and follows a couple struggling to hold their marriage together in a world where time travel is possible, and the past and present are ever fluctuating.
