Rupert Gregson-Williams (Hacksaw Ridge, The Legend of Tarzan, Wonder Woman) has composed the film’s original score. ‘Speech & Debate’ Score Album Released

Broadway Records has released a score album for the comedy drama Speech & Debate. The album features the film’s original music composed by Deborah Lurie (Dear John, 9, An Unfinished Life, Safe Haven). The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio samples. The label has also released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie. Speech & Debate directed by Dan Harris is based on Stephen Karam’s off-Broadway of the same title and stars Liam James, Sarah Steele, Austin McKenzie, Roger Bart, Janeane Garofalo, Wendi McLondon-Covey, Kal Penn, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Skylar Astin and Lin-Manuel Miranda. ‘The Fate of the Furious’ Score Album Details

The full details of the score album for the action sequel The Fate of the Furious have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Brian Tyler (Fast Five, Furious Seven, Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Now You See Me, Power Rangers). The soundtrack will be released digitally within the next few weeks and physically on April 28. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the animated feature Smurfs: The Lost Village directed by Kelly Asbury and starring Demi Lovato, Rainn Wilson, Joe Manganiello, Jack McBrayer, Danny Pudi and Mandy Patinkin. The film’s original music is composed by Christopher Lennertz (Sausage Party, Horrible Bosses). Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as song written by Lennertz & KT Tunstall (click here for the full details). Also now available as a single another original song from the movie, I’m a Lady by Meghan Trainor.
Also opening wide is the crime comedy Going in Style directed by Zach Braff and starring Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Alan Arkin, Ann-Margret, Joey King, Matt Dillon and Christopher Lloyd. Rob Simonsen (Foxcatcher, The Spectacular Now, Nerve) has composed the film’s original music. ‘Empire’ Season 3 Soundtrack Details

Columbia Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Fox hit drama Empire. The album a selection of the songs from the show’s third season by cast members including Terrence Howard (Lucious Lyon), Jussie Smollett (Jamal Lyon) and Bryshere Gray a.k.a. Yazz (Hakeem Lyon), as well as Serayah, Mariah Carey, Rumor Willis & more. The soundtrack will be released on April 28, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Academy Announces New Awards Rules

The Academy of Motion Pictures announced a couple of new rules and campaign regulations for next year’s 90th Academy Awards, which were approved at their most recent Board meeting on Tuesday, March 28, including one in the music categories. The new rules state that, “in the Music (Original Score) category, in the case of a score that has three or more equally contributing composers, the composers may be considered as a group.
