Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the BBC/PBS limited series Les Miserables. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by John Murphy (Sunshine, 28 Days Later.., Snatch, Millions, Kick-Ass). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 3, 2019 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Les Miserables is developed by Andrew Davies based on Victor Hugo’s novel and stars Dominic West, David Oyelowo, Lily Collins, Adeel Akhtar, Olivia Colman, Ellie Bamber, Josh O’Connor and Erin Kellyman. WaterTower Music will release the official soundtrack album for the monster movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Happy Death Day, Outlander, Colossal). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 24, 2019 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD version is set to come out on June 7 and is available for pre-order here. BMG has announced a soundtrack album for the documentary Echo in the Canyon. The album features music from and inspired by the film, including songs by The Byrds, The Mamas & The Papas and more, as interpreted by artists from the film including Fiona Apple, Beck, Cat Power, Eric Clapton, Norah Jones, Regina Spektor, Stephen Stills, Neil Young, as well as a special performance of the Monkees’ She with Josh Homme. Hollywood Records and Marvel Music will release the official soundtrack album for Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump) who previously scored the original Avengers movie, as well as last year’s Avengers: Infinity War and Captain America: The First Avenger. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 26 and will be available to download here. A soundtrack album has been released for the Irish thriller The Dig. The album features the film’s original music composed by James Everett. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Dig is directed by Ryan & Andy Tohill and stars Moe Dunford, Emily Taaffe, Francis Magee and Lorcan Cranitch. The movie centers on a paroled, amnesiac killer as he is confronted by his victim’s father. The thriller was shown at various film festivals over the last year (including at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Galway Film Fleadh, where it won Best Irish Feature) and is being released in Irish theaters this weekend. The film is directed by Ferdinando Cito Filomarino (Antonia) and stars John David Washington, Alicia Vikander, Boyd Holbrook and Vicky Krieps. The movie set in Athens and the Epirus region of Greece, where a vacationing couple fall trap to a violent conspiracy with tragic consequences. Kevin Rice wrote the screenplay. The show is created by Marc Cherry (Desperate Housewives, Devious Minds) and stars Ginnifer Goodwin, Lucy Liu, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Alexandra Daddario, Jack Davenport, Sadie Calvano, Reid Scott and Sam Yaeger. The comedy drama details the lives of three women living in three different decades: a housewife in the ‘60s, a socialite in the ‘80s  and a lawyer in 2018, each dealing with infidelity in her marriage. The Academy has announced the updated rules for next year’s 92nd Academy Awards and confirmed that the short lists that were reintroduced last year in both “Original Score” and “Original Song” music categories will return for next year’s Oscars. The new procedure in the nomination phase generated mixed reactions last year, with some parties feeling movies and their respective songs/scores that are released at the very end of the year are being disadvantaged, while others welcomed the spotlight placed on ten additional scores/songs that appeared on the short lists but ultimately were not nominated.
