Hans Zimmer is currently scoring Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049. While we first heard of the composer’s involvement in the project back in May, Villeneuve clarified in a recent interview with Studio Cine Live that the composer is collaborating with Benjamin Wallfisch on the score and the theme written for the movie by the film’s original composer Johann Johannsson who is still involved in the project will be used in the score. The sci-fi thriller starring Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto takes place thirty years after the events of the first film and follows a new blade runner who unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. Two new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the animated feature The Emoji Movie directed by Tony Leondis and featuring the voices of T.J. Miller, Anna Faris, James Corden, Patrick Stewart, Maya Rudolph, Sofia Vergara and Christina Aguilera. The film’s original music is composed by Patrick Doyle (Brave, Cinderella, Thor, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the original song Good Vibrations by Ricky Reed. Check out our previous article for the full album details.
Also opening wide is the action thriller Atomic Blonde directed by David Leitch and starring Charlize Theron, James McAvoy, John Goodman, Til Schweiger, Eddie Marsan, Sofia Boutella and Toby Jones. Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, 300, John Wick) has composed the film’s original music. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring selections from the composer’s score, as well as the songs from the movie by artists including David Bowie, The Clash, George Michael, Marilyn Manson and HEALTH. Milan Records to Release ‘Loving Vincent’ Soundtrack

Milan Records will release the official soundtrack album for the animated feature Loving Vincent. The album features the film’s original music composed by Clint Mansell (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, Noah, The Fountain, Moon). Also included is of the end credits song Starry Starry Night performed by Lianne La Havas. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 22, 2017 and physically the following week. Matthew Herbert has recently composed the music for the upcoming romantic drama Disobedience. The film is directed by Sebastian Lelio (Gloria, Christmas) and stars Rachel Weisz, Rachel McAdams and Alessandro Nivola. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Naomi Alderman and follows a woman who returns to her Orthodox Jewish home after learning about the death of her estranged father and stirs up controversy when she shows an interest in an old childhood friend. Soundtrack for Spike TV’s ‘The Mist’ Series Released

BMG has released a soundtrack album for the Spike TV event series The Mist. The album features the show’s original music composed by Giona Ostinelli (Carnage Park, Darling). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The Mist is based on the Stephen King novella of the same title and stars Morgan Spector, Alyssa Sutherland, Gus Birney, Danica Curcic, Okezie Morro, Luke Cosgrove, Darren Pettie, Russell Posner, Dan Butler, Isiah Washington, Jr. and Frances Conroy. The series revolves around a small town family that is torn apart by a brutal crime. Alexandre Desplat confirmed in a recent interview with Arturia (embedded after the jump) that he is reuniting with Wes Anderson on the upcoming stop-motion animated feature Isle of Dogs. Keegan DeWitt has been tapped to score the upcoming movie musical Hearts Beat Loud. He has also composed four original songs for the movie directed by Brett Haley and starring Nick Offerman, Kiersey Clemons, Ted Danson, Sasha Lane, Blythe Danner and Toni Collette. The movie revolves around a father and daughter who form an unlikely songwriting duo in the last summer before she leaves for college. Haley also co-wrote the screenplay with Marc Basch.
