Sony Masterworks has released a soundtrack album for the French comedy C’est la vie! (Le sens de la fête). The album features the film’s original music composed by jazz musician Avishai Cohen. Also included are songs by Earth Wind & Fire, Cascadeur, Candi Staton & more. The soundtrack is now available digitally in France. A CD version can now be pre-ordered as an import on Amazon. Music Box Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1988 comedy A Fish Called Wanda directed by Charles Crichton and starring John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Kline and Michael Palin. The album features the remastered and expanded original score from the MGM production composed by John Du Prez (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Meaning of Life), including over 30 minutes of previously unreleased music. Also included are alternates, unused cues and demos, as well as two unused versions of Wanda’s love song, one performed by Rick Driscoll and the other written and performed by John Cleese. Universal Music has announced a soundtrack album for the documentary Chasing Trane. The album features 11 tracks by the film’s subject, jazz saxophonist and composer John Coltrane. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on November 17, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Chasing Trane is directed by John Scheinfeld (The U.S. vs. John Lennon) and explores the global power and impact of Coltrane’s music and reveals the passions, experiences and forces that shaped his life and revolutionary sounds. Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British series The Collection created Oliver Goldstick and starring Richard Coyle, Tom Riley, Frances de la Tour, Mamie Gummer, Max Deacon, Irène Jacob, Michael Kitchen and James Cosmo. Michael A. Levine announced this week that he is scoring the upcoming Freeform original series Siren. The show is based on a story by Eric Wald (View from the Top) & Dean White (The 100) and stars Eline Powell, Alex Roe, Fola Evans-Akingbola, Ian Verdun and Rena Owen. The drama is set in the coastal town of Bristol Cove, known for its legend of once being home to mermaids, which is turned upside down when a mysterious girl appears and begins wreaking havoc upon the small fishing town. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi thriller Blade Runner 2049 directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (InceptionThe Dark Knight) and Benjamin Wallfisch (ItHidden Figures). Epic and ASG Records have released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as songs by Lauren Daigle, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley.
