The only movie opening nationwide this weekend is the Fast & Furious spin-off Hobbs & Shaw directed by David Leitch and starring Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Idris Elba, Vanessa Kirby and Helen Mirren. The film’s original score is composed by Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool 2, John Wick, 300). Back Lot Music has released two soundtrack album for the movie, featuring the composer’s score (click here for the full album details) and the songs from the movie (click here for more information).

Opening in limited release is the psychological thriller Luce directed by Julius Onah and starring Kelvin Harrison Jr., Naomi Watts, Octavia Spencer and Tim Roth. Ben Salisbury & Geoff Barrow (Annihilation, Ex Machina, Hanna, Free Fire) have composed the film’s original score. Lakeshore Records & Invada Records have released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score. Soundtrack Album for HBO’s ‘Succession’ Announced

Milan Records has announced the first soundtrack album for the HBO original series Succession. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by Academy Award nominee Nicholas Britell (Moonlight, If Beale Street Could Talk, Vice, The Big Short, Battle of the Sexes) who recently received his first Emmy Award nomination for his main titles theme from the drama. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 9 (click here to download) and physically on August 23. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD version. River House Artists and Columbia Nashville have released the original song Let’s Just Be Friends from the animated sequel The Angry Birds Movie 2. The track, which is written by Jonathan Singleton & Jessi Alexander and performed by Luke Combs, is now available to download on Amazon. Also listen to the full track after the jump. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for Asif Kapadia’s feature documentary Diego Maradona. The album features the film’s original music composed by Antonio Pinto (City of God, Lord of War, McFarland, USA, Snitch, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind) who has previously scored the filmmaker’s Senna and Amy. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Diego Maradona centers on the career of the celebrated football player who played for S.S.C. Interscope Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Netflix original series 13 Reasons Why. The album features a selection of songs from the show’s third season, including new tracks by 5 Seconds of Summer, YUNGBLUD, Lauv feat. Anne-Marie, The Decemberist, Charli XCX, Daya & others. A first song Another Summer Night Without You by Alexander 23 is already available to download. Also included is a track by the drama’s composer Eskmo (Billions). The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 23 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The album features the songs from the third installment in the Descendants series performed by cast members Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Booboo Stewart, Cameron Boyce, Sarah Jefferey, Jadah Marie, Anna Cathcart, Dylan Playfair, China Anne McClain and Thomas Doherty. Barrington Pheloung has passed away at age 65 at his home in Australia. The composer has scored numerous movies, TV shows and TV movies over a three-decade spanning career. Among his feature credits are Anand Tucker’s 1998 drama Hilary and Jackie and 2005’s Shopgirl, as well as Anthony Minghella’s 1990 film Truly Madly Deeply and Sharon Maguire’s 2008 thriller Incendiary. His television credits include such shows as Endeavour, which he has been scoring for the past seven years, Inspector Lewis and Inspector Morse. WaterTower Music will release the official soundtrack album for the drama The Kitchen. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bryce Dessner (The Revenant, The Two Popes). Also included is The Highwomen’s cover of Fleetwood Mac’s The Chain. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 2 and will be available to download here. The Kitchen is written and directed by Andrea Berloff and stars Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, Elisabeth Moss, Domhnall Gleeson, James Badge Dale, Brian d’Arcy James, Margo Martindale, Common and Bill Camp. The movie is based on the Vertigo comic book series from DC Entertainment created by Ollie Masters & Ming Doyle and follows three 1978 Hell’s Kitchen housewives whose mobster husbands are sent to prison by the FBI and decide to take the Irish mafia’s matters into their own hands.
