Composer Theodore Shapiro (Severance, The Devil Wears Prada, A Simple Favor, Tropic Thunder, Ghostbusters, Marley & Me, Spy) is reuniting with director Jay Roach (Meet the Parents, Austin Powers) on the upcoming comedy The Roses. The film is a reimagining of Danny DeVito’s 1989 classic The War of the Roses (scored by David Newman), based on the novel by Warren Adler, and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Olivia Colman, Andy Samberg, Allison Janney, Sunita Mani, Belinda Bromilow, Ncuti Gatwa, Zoë Chao, Jamie Demetriou and Kate McKinnon. A24 Music will release the official soundtrack album for the romantic comedy Materialists. The album features the film’s original score composed by Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into/Across the Spider-Verse, Steve Jobs, Enola Holmes, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Bad Guys, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Birds of Prey). Also included is the original song My Baby (Got Nothing At All) by Japanese Breakfast (already out now as a digital single), as well as Baby Rose’s covers of the love songs I’ll Be Your Mirror and That’s All. Expanded ‘Luck’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the Skydance Animation’s 2022 feature Luck directed by Peggy Holmes and starring Eva Noblezada, Simon Pegg, Whoopi Goldberg, Jane Fonda, Lil Rel Howery, John Ratzenberger, Flula Borg Colin O’Donoghue and Adelynn Spoon. The album features the expanded original score from the film composed and conducted by Academy Award nominee John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, The Jungle Book, Elf, Iron Man 2, The Emperor’s New Groove, Hocus Pocus, Bruce Almighty), including over 30 minutes of previously unreleased music. The film is directed by Eva Orner and tells the story of the male victims of Dr. Richard Strauss, a sports medicine physician and serial sex abuser employed by The Ohio State University from 1978 to 1998. The movie examines the culture that allowed the abuse to continue unchecked for nearly two decades, as well as the survivors’ present-day fight to hold the school accountable.
