Three new movies are opening nationwide this week:

Opening in most theaters is the horror thriller The Turning directed by Floria Sigismondi and starring Mackenzie Davis, Finn Wolfhard, Brooklynn Prince and Joely Richardson. The film’s original score is composed by Nathan Barr (True Blood, Hostel, The Americans, Carnival Row). KRO Records & Sony Masterworks have released a soundtrack album featuring songs by Courtney Love, Lawrence Rothman, Empress Of, Mitski, girl in red & others. Click here for the full album details.

Also opening wide is the is action comedy The Gentlemen written and directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, Eddie Marsan, Colin Farrell and Hugh Grant. Chris Benstead has composed the film’s original music. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Atlantic Records has released the original song Speed Me Up from the Sonic the Hedgehog movie. The track is performed by Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, Sueco the Child & Lil Yachty and produced by Take A Daytrip (Denzel Baptiste and David Biral). ‘Babylon Berlin’ Season 3 Soundtrack Album Released

BMG has released a new soundtrack album for the German TV series Babylon Berlin. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s third season composed by Johnny Klimek & Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run, The International, Cloud Atlas, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer), including the song Wir sind uns lang verloren gegangen performed by Natalia Mateo (also available as a digital single), as well as tracks by Woods of Birnam, The Bryan Ferry Orchestra  & more. Rob (Maniac, Revenge, Horns, Troy: Fall of a City, Planetarium) has composed the original score for the upcoming horror thriller Run Sweetheart Run. The film is written and directed by Shana Feste (Country Strong, Endless Love) and stars Ella Balinska, Pilou Asbæk, Clark Gregg, Aml Ameen, Dayo Okeniyi and Shohreh Aghdashloo. L’R du Trésor has released a soundtrack album for the French thriller The Translators (Les traducteurs). The album features the film’s original music composed by Jun Miyake (Norman). Nico Muhly (The Reader, Margaret, Kill Your Darlings, Howards End) has contributed original music to the upcoming drama Worth. The film is directed by Sara Colangelo (The Kindergarten Teacher, Little Accidents) and stars Michael Keaton, Stanley Tucci, Amy Ryan, Tate Donovan, Talia Balsam and Laura Benanti. The movie centers on Kenneth Feinberg, a powerful D.C. lawyer appointed Special Master of the 9/11 Fund, as he fights off the cynicism, bureaucracy, and politics associated with administering government funds. Academy Awards show producers Lynette Howell Taylor and Stephanie Allain announced today that Cynthia Erivo will be performing the original song Stand Up from Harriet, which she co-wrote with Joshuah Brian Campbell, at this year’s Academy Awards ceremony. Elton John will perform (I’m Gonna) Love Me Again (co-written by the singer/songwriter and Bernie Taupin) from Rocketman, Idina Menzel will perform the Kristen Anderson-Lopez -& Robert Lopez-penned song Into the Unknown from Frozen II, Chrissy Metz will perform the Diane Warren-written song I’m Standing with You from Breakthrough and Oscar winner Randy Newman will perform his song I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away from Pixar’s Toy Story 4. Christophe Beck (Frozen, The Hangover, Edge of Tomorrow, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) has revealed in a recent interview with SESAC that he will be scoring Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ original series WandaVision. The show is developed by Jac Schaeffer (The Hustle) based on the Marvel Comics characters Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and Vision and stars Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Kat Dennings and Randall Park who are reprising their roles from the Marvel feature films.
