Composer Emile Mosseri (MinariThe Last Black Man in San Francisco, How to Make a Killing, Kajillionaire, HomecomingPreparation for the Next Life) is reuniting with actor/writer/director Jesse Eisenberg (A Real Pain) on the upcoming musical comedy The Debut. The film is written and directed by Eisenberg and stars Julianne Moore, Paul Giamatti, Halle Bailey, Eisenberg himself, Craig Bierko, Cara Buono, Eldar Isgandarov and Bernadette Peters. As previously reported, Eisenberg has also written all original songs for the movie, which follows a shy, unassuming housewife performing a bit part at a small community theater as she transforms into a zealous method actor willing to do anything to protect the artistic integrity of her marginal role. Studiocanal announced today that rapper/singer/songwriter 070 Shake (aka Danielle Balbuena) & Johan Lenox (The Plague) have been hired to score the upcoming French romantic drama Forty Love. The film marks the feature directorial debut of fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti and stars Romeo Beckham, Paul Kircher, Guillaume Canet and Benjamin Voisin. The movie, which also features an appearance from Catherine Deneuve, follows a tennis superstar training with his father to win a major trophy in Paris, but the arrival of a charismatic new rival challenges everything he thought he understood about ambition, competition, and himself. Rhino Records will release a new soundtrack album for the 1960s TV series The Monkees created by Bob Rafelson & Bert Schneider and starring David Jones, Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith & Peter Tork. The album features the songs from the show’s first season by the titular band, including 14 rare, broadcast-exclusive TV mixes created especially for the comedy and more than two dozen songs from the season. Tracks include the theme song written by Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart, the Neil Diamond-penned Look Out (Here Comes Tomorrow) and Gerry Goffin and Carole King’s Take a Giant Step.
