Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the horror comedy Freaky. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Outlander, Happy Death Day, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 13 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music services. Freaky is co-written and directed by Christopher Landon and stars Kathryn Newton, Vince Vaughn, Celeste O’Connor, Misha Osherovich, Dana Drori, Uriah Shelton, Katie Finneran and Alan Ruck. The Blumhouse production centers on a teenage girl who trying to survive the bloodthirsty halls of her high school and the cruelty of the popular crowd when she switches bodies with a relentless serial killer. Quincy Jones to Receive Guild of Music Supervisors Icon Award

The Guild of Music Supervisors announced today that record producer, composer, and songwriter Quincy Jones will be honored with the Icon Award at next year’s 11th Guild of Music Supervisors Awards. The Icon Award was created to celebrate those who have made legendary contributions to the music and film industry. Jones who is the all-time most nominated Grammy artist with a total of 80 Grammy nominations and as received the award 28 times has contributed music to numerous film and TV projects. He won an Emmy Award for his score of the opening episode of Roots, received the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award and was honored with seven Oscar nominations throughout his career. The movie tells the true story of the Jewish Braude family, an ordinary Norwegian working class family who had lived in safety in Oslo before being transported to Auschwitz during World War II.
