Michael Abels (Get Out, Us, Bad Education, See You Yesterday, All Day and a Night) has recently scored the new HBO documentary Fake Famous. The film is directed by Nick Bilton and explores the meaning of fame and influence in the digital age through an innovative social experiment. The movie follows three LA-based people with relatively small followings and the attempts made to turn them into famous influencers by purchasing fake followers and bots to “engage” with their social media accounts. Bilton (The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley) is also producing the Consolidated Documentaries production with Annabelle Dunne & Mary Recine (Joan Didion: The Center Will Not Hold). Manners McDade has released a soundtrack album for the BBC mini-series The Woman in White. The album features selections of the original music from the show composed by Jon Opstad (Black Mirror, We Hunt Together, Silent Witness, Safe House). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other digital music stores), where you can also check out audio samples. The Woman in White is written by Fiona Seres based on Wilkie Collins’ novel and stars Ben Hardy, Jessie Buckley, Olivia Vinall, Dougray Scott, Riccardo Scamarcio and Charles Dance. The 5-part drama directed by Carl Tibbetts centers on the lives of two half-sisters and their drawing master as they get caught up in a deadly conspiracy revolving around a mentally ill woman dressed all in white. Premiering on Wednesday, January 28, is the Australian drama Penguin Bloom directed by Glendyn Ivin and starring Naomi Watts, Andrew Lincoln, Jacki Weaver, Griffin Murray-Johnston, Rachel House, Leeanna Walsman, Lisa Hensley, Felix Cameron and Abe Clifford-Barr. The film’s original music is composed by Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder, The Affair, Enough Said, The Good Shepherd, Ray Donovan, The Door in the Floor). Also premiering on Wednesday is the Syfy original series Resident Alien developed by Chris Sheridan based on the Dark Horse comics and staring Alan Tudyk, Sara Tomko, Alice Wetterlund, Corey Reynolds and Levi Fiehler. Scoring Records has released a soundtrack album for the British romantic comedy Love Sarah. The album features the film’s original music composed by Enis Rotthoff (Guns Akimbo, The Sunlit Night, Wetlands) who recorded his score with the Budapest Art Orchestra. Also included is the original song For the Love of You written and performed by British R&B/jazz singer Tony Momrelle & his writing partner/pianist Emiliano Pari (featuring a string arrangement by Rotthoff). Love Sarah is directed by Eliza Schroeder and stars Celia Imrie, Shannon Tarbet, Shelley Conn, Rupert Penry-Jones and Bill Paterson. Waxwork Records has announced a soundtrack album for the horror comedy PG: Psycho Goreman. The album features the film’s original music composed by Blitz//Berlin (The Void, Extraterrestrial, Still Born, It Stains the Sands Red). The soundtrack is now available to order as a vinyl deluxe edition on the label’s official website. A digital release (to be released on February 5) is also in the works and will be available to stream/download on Amazon. PG: Psycho Goreman is written and directed by Steven Kostanski and stars Nita-Josee Hanna, Owen Myre, Adam Brooks, Alexis Hancey and Matthew Ninaber.
