Netflix announced today that the Grammy Award-nominated band HAIM will contribute original music to the Netflix animated musical The Witch Boy. The film directed by Minkyu Lee (Adam and Dog) is based on the graphic novel series of the same nam by Molly Knox Ostertag. The movie is set in a magical community where girls are born to be witches and boys grow into shapeshifters and follows the title character who discovers he has emerging witch powers. Maria Melnik (Escape Room) is writing the screenplay. Roy Lee (The LEGO Movie, It, Doctor Sleep), Miri Yoon (Behaving Badly) and Ryan Harris (The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run) are producing the project for Vertigo Entertainment. The albums feature the original Episode 3 theme song We Got Something Cooking written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez & Robert Lopez (Frozen, Frozen II, The Book of Mormon), as well as the original score from the episode composed by Christophe Beck (Ant-Man, Frozen, Edge of Tomorrow, The Muppets, Buffy the Vampire Slayer). The show is based on the DC Comics/Vertigo book series of the same title by Brian K. Vaughan & Pia Guerra and stars Diane Lane, Ben Schnetzer, Ashley Romans, Olivia Thirlby, Juliana Canfield, Marin Ireland, Amber Tamblyn and Elliot Fletcher. The drama is set in a post-apocalyptic world, in which a cataclysmic event decimates every mammal with a Y chromosome with the exception of a cisgender man and his pet monkey and follows the survivors in this new world as they struggle with their efforts to restore what was lost and the opportunity to build something better. Neon announced today that Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood is attached to score the upcoming biographical drama Spencer. The film is directed by Pablo Larraín (Jackie) and stars Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana, alongside Timothy Spall, Sally Hawkins and Sean Harris. The movie is set during the Christmas holiday in December 1991 when Princess Diana  decided to leave her marriage to Prince Charles. Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, Eastern Promises, Locke) wrote the screenplay. Jan de Dios Larraín (A Fantastic Woman, Gloria Bell) is producing the project for Fabula Films, alongside Jonas Dornbach & Janine Jackowski (Toni Erdmann) for Komplizen Film and Paul Webster (Atonement, Pride & Prejudice) for Shoebox Films.
