Planets In Alignment will release a soundtrack album for the British crime thriller Nemesis. The album features the film’s original score composed by Chris Hurst & Robert Geoffrey Hughes (We Still Steal the Old Way, Tango One). The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 29 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A limited edition CD version will also be available to order on the same day. Also available now separately as a digital single is the title song from the movie performed by Talia Dean. Listen to the track after the jump. Premiering today is the the National Geographic event series Genius: Aretha created by Suzan-Lori Parks and starring Cynthia Erivo, Courtney B. Vance, Malcolm Barrett, Pauletta Washington, David Cross, Patrice Covington, Rebecca Naomi Jones and Steven Norfleet. The show’s original score is composed by Terence Blanchard (BlacKkKlansmanInside Man, Da 5 Bloods, Malcolm X). Raphael Saadiq (Lovecraft County, Insecure) serves as the project’s executive music producer and Hans Zimmer & Lorne Balfe have provided a new version of their Emmy Award-nominated main titles theme. Premiering on Wednesday, March 24 is the HBO Sports documentary The Day Sports Stood Still directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Brian Grazer & Justin Wilkes about the unprecedented sports shutdown in March of 2020 and the remarkable turn of events that followed. Keefus Ciancia (Killing Eve, London Spy, The Fall, Nashville, Diana, The Motel Life) is scoring the new HBO Max original series Made for Love. The show is based on the novel of the same title by Alissa Nutting and stars Cristin Milioti, Billy Magnussen, Dan Bakkedahl, Augusto Aguilera, Noma Dumezweni and Ray Romano. The comedy follows a thirty-something woman on the run after 10 years in a suffocating marriage who discovers that her husband has implanted a monitoring device in her brain, allowing him to track and watch her as she tries to regain her independence. Linda Perry has released the original song The Letter from the Hulu documentary Kid 90. The track is written and performed by the singer/songwriter/composer (best known as a member of the former rock band 4 Non Blondes) who also scored the film. Opening semi-wide in around 550 theaters is the crime thriller City of Lies directed by Brad Furman and starring Johnny Depp, Forest Whitaker, Rockmond Dunbar, Shea Whigham, Xander Berkeley,  Neil Brown Jr., Wynn Everett, Louis Herthum, Toby Huss and Shamier Anderson. Milan Records has released a new English language version of the Oscar-shortlisted original song Rain Song (written by Emile Mosseri) from Lee Isaac Chung’s Academy Award-nominated drama Minari. World of Wonder Records has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Wojnarowicz. The album includes the music from the film by the New York band 3 Teens Kill 4, which featured the movie’s subject David Wojnarowicz as a member. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Wojnarowicz is directed by Chris McKim and centers on the New York painter/photographer/musician/writer who emerged in the 1980s as an internationally known firebrand. The movie focuses on the fiercely political, unapologetically queer artist who was especially critical of mainstream indifference to AIDS, the epidemic that would take his life at age 37. The album features the film’s original music composed by Joseph Shirley (The Open House) and Academy Award winner Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, The Mandalorian, Tenet, Creed, Venom, Community). The soundtrack will be released next Friday, March 26 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Two tracks (Bad Trip Suite & I Saw a Girl Today feat. vocals by Eric André) are already available to stream/download now. Varese Sarabande has announced the latest titles in its CD club series, including a new deluxe edition soundtrack for the 2001 thriller Along Came a Spider directed by Lee Tamahori and starring Morgan Freeman, Monica Potter, Michael Wincott, Penelope Ann Miller and Michael Moriarty. The album features the complete original score from the film composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Alien, Chinatown, The Omen, Planet of the Apes, L.A. Confidential, Patton), including almost 30 minutes of previously unreleased music, as well as bonus track of outtakes.
