Premiering tonight is the National Geographic event series The Hot Zone: Anthrax created by Kelly Souders & Brian Peterson and starring Daniel Dae Kim, Tony Goldwyn, Dawn Olivieri,Morgan Kelly, Ian Colletti, Denyce Lawton, Vanessa Matsui, Carlos Gonzalez-Vio, Enrico Colantoni and Harry Hamlin. The show’s original music is composed by John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, Invincible, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, When the Game Stands Tall, The Star). Check out our previous news article to learn more about the 6-parter, which will air on National Geographic and will also be available to stream on Hulu.

Premiering tomorrow, November 29, is the documentary 14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible directed by Torquil Jones and executive produced by Jimmy Chin & Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi. Nainita Desai (For Sama, The Reason I Jump, The Tower, American Murder: The Family Next Door,  Sophie: A Murder in West Cork, Telling Lies, Enemy Within)  has composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past Friday. ‘Nora’ Soundtrack Album Released

MovieScore Media has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish drama Nora. The album features the film’s original music composed by Paula Olaz (Crónica de una tormenta) & Pascal Gaigne (The Giant, The Endless Trench, The Olive Tree, Remember Me). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. Nora is written and directed by Lara Izagirre and stars Ane Pikaza, Hector Alterio, Ramon Barea and Itziar Ituno. The movie follows a 30-year-old woman who inherits her grandfather’s old van after his death and decides to take a road trip along the Basque coast to deliver the man’s remains in the south of France, where her grandmother is buried. Anna Waronker is the composer of the new HBO Max animated series Santa Inc.. She has written by the score and original songs for the show created by Alexandra Rushfield (Love) and featuring the voices of Sarah Silverman, Seth Rogen, Leslie Grossman, Gabourey Sidibe, Craig Robinson, Maria Bamford, Nicholas Braun and Joel Kim Booster. Soundtrack Album for Netflix Documentary ‘Procession’ Released

A soundtrack album has been released for the Netflix original documentary Procession. The album features the film’s original score composed by Keegan DeWitt (Hearts Beat Loud, A Teacher, I’ll See You in My Dreams, Gemini, The Hero, Divorce, All the Bright Places) & Dabney Morris (Broken Diamonds, Almost Love). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other major digital music services), where you can also check out audio samples. Procession is directed by Robert Greene and follows six midwestern men who were sexually abused by Catholic clergy as boys and come together to direct a drama therapy-inspired experiment designed to collectively work through their trauma. Three new movies have opened in theaters nationwide this past Wednesday:

Opening in most theaters is the animated feature Encanto directed by Byron Howard & Jared Bush and starring Stephanie Beatriz, María Cecilia Botero,Wilmer Valderrama, Adassa,  Diane Guerrero, Jessica Darrow, Angie Cepeda, Rhenzy Feliz, Mauro Castillo and Carolina Gaitan. The film’s original score is composed by Germaine Franco (Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Dope, Tag, Little) and Lin-Manuel Miranda (Moana, Hamilton, In the Heights) has written the movie’s original songs. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs and score last Friday and a CD version will be coming out next month. Also opening wide is the biographical crime drama House of Gucci directed by Ridley Scott and starring Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Reeve Carney, Jack Huston, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek and Al Pacino. Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, The Martian, Shrek, Mulan, Kingdom of Heaven, Man on Fire, The Town) has composed the film’s original score. Interscope Records & Decca Records are set to release a soundtrack album according to the movie’s end credits, but no announcement has been made yet. Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘Super Crooks’ to Be Released

Maisie Music Publishing will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix anime series Super Crooks. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by DJ/record producer Towa Tai (Big Man Japan). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 27 and will be available to stream/download here. A CD and vinyl edition will be released by Columbia Records Japan on December 10 and is available to order as an import on Amazon. Super Crooks is written by Dai Sato based on the graphic novel of the same name by Mark Millar and artist Leinil Yu, directed by Motonobu Hori and produced by Japanese anime studio bones. The series follows a crew of small-time crooks with super powers who are recruited by Johnny Bolt for one last heist targeting a ruthless super-powered crime boss. Read the rest of this entry »

‘Trolls Holiday in Harmony’ Soundtrack EP Released

RCA Records has released a soundtrack EP for the DreamWorks Animation’s special Trolls Holiday in Harmony. The 5-track EP features two original songs (Together Now & Tiny’s Journey) from the special co-written and produced by composer Joseph Shirley (The Book of Boba Fett, The Mysterious Benedict Society, Bad Trip, Fairfax) and performed by the project’s voice cast, as well as a cover of Stevie Wonder’s Signed, Sealed, Delivered. Also included is a score suite by Shirley. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Also listen to all five tracks after the jump. Trolls Holiday in Harmony is written and directed by Sean Charmatz & Tim Heitz and features the voices of Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Kenan Thompson, Rachel Bloom, Ron Funches, Anderson .Paak, Kunal Nayyar, Anthony Ramos, Ester Dean, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Walt Dohrn and Karan Soni. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nainita Desai (For Sama, The Tower, The Reason I Jump, American Murder: The Family Next Door, Enslaved, Sophie: A Murder in West Cork, Enemy Within, Telling Lies). Mascot Records has released the new version of the traditional Christmas carol Angels from the Realms of Glory from the Netflix original film A Castle for Christmas. The song produced by the movie’s composer Jeff Rona (White Squall, Chicago Hope, Claws, Exit Wounds) & Rune Westberg and performed by Grammy Award-nominated singer/songwriter Beth Hart is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Remastered and Expanded ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ & ‘The Diary of Anne Frank’ Soundtracks Announced

La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1971 musical comedy Fiddler on the Roof directed by Norman Jewison and starring Topol, Norma Crane, Leonard Frey, Paul Mann and Molly Picon. The album features the film’s music adapted and conducted by John Williams (Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Schindler’s List, Jaws, Home Alone) who received his first Academy Award for his work on the project. The 3-CD set, which is limited to 5,000 copies, includes the remastered original soundtrack recording program on the first disc, alternate versions on the second disc and early “playback” versions of the songs, as well as selections of Williams’ underscore and other musical material released for the first time on the third disc. The 50th Anniversary Edition will be available to purchase on the label’s official website on Tuesday, November 30.
