Jeff Beal has composed the score for the upcoming Showtime docu-series The Putin Interviews. The 4-parter is directed by Oliver Stone who, alongside his longtime documentary producer Fernando Sulichin, interviewed the Russian president Vladimir Putin more than a dozen times over the course of two years, most recently in February following the U.S. presidential elections. The series provides intimate insight into Putin’s personal and professional lives, from his childhood under communism, to his rise to power, his relations with four U.S. presidents, and his surprising takes on U.S.-Russian relations today. Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score from the show next month.

‘House of Cards’ Season 5 Soundtrack Details
Varese Sarabande will release a new soundtrack album for the Netflix original series House of Cards. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s fifth season composed by Jeff Beal (Rome, Monk, Appaloosa, Pollock, Blackfish, The Newsroom, Pollock) who received an Emmy Award, as well as three additional Emmy nominations for his work on the political drama. House of Cards created by Beau Willimon, executive produced by David Fincher and starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright follows a ruthless politician who will stop at nothing to conquer Washington, D.C.
Rhino Records to Release Soundtracks for Showtime’s ‘Twin Peaks’ Event Series
Rhino Records will release two soundtrack albums for Showtime’s Twin Peaks limited event series. The albums will feature the show’s original score composed by Angelo Badalamenti (Blue Velvet, The Straight Story, Mulholland Drive) who previously scored the original series, as well as the movie version. Also included is music by Chromatics. Both soundtracks will be released on September 8, 2017. The digital, CD and vinyl version of Twin Peaks (Music from the Limited Event Series) is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Badalamenti’s main titles theme (check out the titles sequence after the jump) and Chromatics’ Shadow from the show’s first episode are already available to download.

Premiering tonight is the revival of the classic TV series Twin Peaks created by David Lynch & Mark Frost and starring Kyle MacLachlan, Mädchen Amick, Dana Ashbrook, Sherilyn Fenn, Sheryl Lee, Peggy Lipton, James Marshall, Everett McGill and Wendy Robie. Making its U.S. debut tonight is the British mini-series Dark Angel developed by Gwyneth Hughes based on David Wilson’s book Mary Ann Cotton: Britain’s First Female Serial Killer and starring Joanne Froggatt, Alun Armstrong, Penny Layden, Laura Morgan, Jonas Armstrong, Sam Hoare, Emma Fielding and John Hollingworth. Michael J McEvoy (Me and Orson Welles, Forget Me Not) has composed the film’s original music. The 2-parter premiered in the UK last fall and will air in the U.S. on PBS. ‘Nashville’ Season 5 – Vol. 2 Soundtrack Announced
Big Machine Records will release a new soundtrack album for the CMT original series Nashville. The album features the songs from the second half of the show’s fifth season performed by cast members including Connie Britton, Hayden Panettiere, Charles Esten, Clare Bowen, Sam Palladio, Jonathan Jackson, Chris Carmack and Lennon & Maisy, as well as Will Chase, Joseph David-Jones and Rhiannon Giddens. The Season 5 – Volume 2 soundtrack will be released on June 1 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released the songs from the first half of the season, as well as multiple soundtracks for the previous four seasons.
Soundtrack for Hulu’s ‘Harlots’ to Be Released
Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for the Hulu original series Harlots. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Rael Jones (Suite Francaise, My Cousin Rachel, Kids in Love). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 19 and will be available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Harlots is created by Moira Buffini & Alison Newman and stars Samantha Morton, Jessica Brown Findlay, Eloise Smyth and Lesley Manville. The drama is set in 18th century London and centers on a woman who struggles to reconcile her roles as brothel owner and mother to her daughters.
‘The 100’ Season 4 Soundtrack to Be Released
WaterTower Music will release a new soundtrack album for the CW drama The 100. The album features selections from the original music of the show’s fourth season composed by Tree Adams (Californication, Perception, Lethal Weapon). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday 19, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring Adams’ score from the third season. The 100 developed by Jason Rothenberg based on the book by Kass Morgan stars Eliza Taylor, Paige Turco, Bob Morley, Marie Avgeropoulos, Christopher Larkin, Devon Bostick, Isaiah Washington, Henry Ian Cusick and Lindsey Morgan. The drama follows a group of teens who become the first humans to return to Earth after a devastating nuclear apocalypse.
Spike Lee’s Netflix Series ‘She’s Gotta Have It’ to Feature Music by Bruce Hornsby
Bruce Hornsby has been tapped to score the upcoming Netflix original series She’s Gotta Have It. The show is created by Spike Lee (Do the Right Thing, Inside Man, 25th Hour) and stars DeWanda Wise, Lyriq Bent, Cleo Anthony, Anthony Ramos, Chyna Layne and Ilfenesh Hadera. The comedy based on Lee’s 1986 film revolves around a Brooklyn-based sexually liberated, free spirited painter/mixed media artist in her late 20s who struggles to define herself and divide her time among her friends, job and three lovers.

Premiering in the U.S. tomorrow, May 15, is the British mini-series Decline and Fall written by James Woods, directed by Guillem Morales and starring Jack Whitehall, David Suchet and Eva Longoria. The 3-parter’s original music is composed by Paul Englishby (An Education, Miss Petigrew Lives for a Day, The Musketeers). The comedy is based on Evelyn Waugh’s classic novel and follows an inoffensive divinity student at Oxford University in the 1920s,who is wrongly dismissed for indecent exposure having been made the victim of a prank by The Bollinger Club. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul will compose several new songs for Fox’s television adaptation of the 1983 classic feature and the Broadway musical A Christmas Story. The 3-hour television event based on the movie and stage musical follows a Midwestern boy named Ralphie who attempts to convince his parents, his teacher, and Santa that a Red Ryder B.B. gun really is the perfect Christmas gift. Jonathan Tolins and Robert Cary (Grease: LIVE) are writing the script. Marc Platt (La La Land, Into the Woods) is executive producing the Fox Broadcasting Company and Warner Horizon Unscripted Television.
