Adrian Johnston (The Strangers: Prey at Night, Lassie, The Child in Time, Dancing on the Edge, The Tunnel) is the composer of the new British Prime Video limited series A Very Royal Scandal. The show is directed by Julian Jarrold (Sulphur and White, A Royal Night Out), written by Jeremy Brock (The Last King of Scotland, Mrs. Brown) and stars Michael Sheen as Prince Andrew and Ruth Wilson as Emily Maitlis, as well as Joanna Scanlan, Alex Jennings, Éanna Hardwicke and Claire Rushbrook. The 3-part drama is based on the real-life 2019 interview between Emily Maitlis and Prince Andrew over the accusations the Prince faced regarding his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein and Virginia Giuffre and follows the action of Maitlis and Prince Andrew in the lead-up to the interview.

Mick Giacchino Scoring HBO’s ‘The Penguin’
Mick Giacchino (The Muppets Mayhem, Zootopia+, Extinct, That Dirty Black Bag, Jim Henson’s Turkey Hollow) has provided the original score for the new HBO limited series The Penguin. The show is developed by Lauren LeFranc and stars Colin Farrell who reprises his role of the title character (aka Oz Cobb) from Matt Reeves’ 2022 feature The Batman. Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Michael Kelly, Deirdre O’Connell, James Madio, Clancy Brown, Scott Cohen, Michael Zegen, Carmen Ejogo and Theo Rossi are also starring in the 8-parter.

Republic Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Emily in Paris. The album features the songs from the fourth season of the show performed by actress Ashley Park, including the original track Ruins (listen to the song after the jump), as well as covers of Elton John’s & Kiki Dee’s Don’t Go Breaking My Heart & Britney Spears’ Ooops I Did It Again (both with Kevin Dias), Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, as well Gracie Abrams’ Close to You, DO Not DO’s French language cover of Blondie’s Heart of Glass, Keren Ann’s rendition of Dancing in the Moonlight cover and Clio’s Tous Les Garcons Et Les Filles cover. World Premiere Release of Bruce Broughton’s ‘Desperate Voyage’ Score Announced
Dragon’s Domain Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1980 television movie Desperate Voyage directed by Michael O’Herlihy and starring Christopher Plummer, Jonathan Banks, Christine Belford, Cliff Potts, Lara Parker, Nicholas Pryor and Michael Swan. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award nominee Bruce Broughton (Silverado, Rescuers Down Under, The Miracle on 42nd Street, Tombstone, Young Sherlock Holmes, Homeward Bound, Lost in Space). The soundtrack is now available to order as a limited edition CD on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and find out more about the release.

The full details of the soundtrack album for the fifth episode of the second season of the Prime Video original series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power have been revealed. The albums features the original music from Episode 5 (entitled Halls of Stone) of Season 2 composed by Emmy Award winner Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Outlander, Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead, Happy Death Day). The soundtracks will be released digitally tomorrow, September 12 by Amazon Content Services and will be available to stream exclusively on Amazon Music before becoming available on all major digital music services after the final Season 2 episode premieres. The sequel to 2022’s Magpie Murders (scored by Gold) is written by Anthony Horowitz (Alex Rider, New Blood) based on his own bestselling novel of the same title and stars Lesley Manville & Timothy McMullan who reprise their roles of Susan Ryeland & Atticus Pünd from the original series, as well as Mark Gatiss, Rosalie Craig, Daniel Mays, Claire Rushbrook, Pippa Bennett-Warner, Conleth Hill, Matthew Beard, Adrian Rawlins and Sanjeev Kohli.
Fernando Velázquez Scoring Netflix’s ‘The Last Night at Tremore Beach’
Composer Fernando Velázquez (A Monster Calls, The Impossible, Crimson Peak, The Orphanage, Hercules, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Devil) is reuniting with writer/director Oriol Paulo on the upcoming Spanish Netflix limited series The Last Night at Tremore Beach (La última noche en Tremor Beach). The show is created, co-written and directed by Paulo and stars Javier Rey, Ana Polvorosa, Willy Toledo and Pilar Castro. The 8-part psychological thriller is based on the best-selling novel of the same title by Mikel Santiago and follows a musician and composer in crisis who retreats into a coastal village in the north to finish his latest work, when he begins to experience some terrifying visions about his neighbors.
Tommy Reilly Scoring BBC’s ‘Nightsleeper’
Tommy Reilly (Anna and the Apocalypse, Our Ladies, Dinosaur) is making his solo television scoring debut on the new BBC drama Nightsleeper. The show is created by Nick Leather (Murdered for Being Different, The Control Room) and stars Alexandra Roach, Joe Cole, Alex Ferns, James Cosmo, Sharon Small, David Threlfall, Lois Chimimba, Daniel Cahill, Gabriel Howell, Leah MacRae, Katie Leung, Scott Reid, Ruth Madeley, Pamela Nomvete, Adam Mitchell, Sharon Rooney and Parth Thakerar. The 6-part thriller follows an off-duty police officer who is a passenger on a train that gets ‘hackjacked’ while traveling from Glasgow to London and has to work together with the acting technical director at the National Cyber Security Centre to work out who is behind this.
