David Buckley is set to score the upcoming TNT original series Proof. The supernatural drama stars Jennifer Beals, Matthew Modine, Joe Morton, Callum Blue, Edi Gathegi, Annie Thurman, Sean Gleeson and Caroline Rose Kaplan. The series follows a skeptical, brilliant female surgeon with a caustic edge who has been struggling with the loss of her teenage son and is persuaded to investigate reincarnation, out-of-body experiences, hauntings and other supernatural cases. Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) is executive producing the project with Rob Bragin (Greek), Tom Jacobson (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Ladykillers), Jill Littman and Alex Graves (The West Wing, Game of Thrones) who also directed the pilot episode.

‘Vice’ to Feature Music by Hybrid
The British electronic music group Hybrid is composing the music for the upcoming sci-fi action thriller Vice. The film is directed by Brian A. Miller (The Prince, Officer Down, The Outsider) and stars Bruce Willis, Ambyr Childers and Thomas Jane. The movie is set in a city in which humans can enact their most perverse fantasies onto androids and follows one android who becomes self-aware and breaks out, only to become intent on shutting down the organization. Andre Fabrizio & Jeremy Passmore (Red Dawn, San Andreas, The Prince) have written the screenplay. George Furla & Randall Emmett (2 Guns, Lone Survivor, Righteous Kill, Broken City) and Adam Goldworm (The Prince) are producing the Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films production.
Alexis & Sam Scoring ‘Lila & Eve’
Alexis & Sam are scoring the upcoming indie drama Lila & Eve. The film is directed by Charles Stone III (Drumline, Mr 300) and stars Viola Davis, Jennifer Lopez, Shea Whigham, Yolonda Ross, Aml Ameen and Andre Royo. The movie follows a grief stricken mother, who in the aftermath of her son’s murder in a drive-by shooting, attends a support group where she meets a woman who has lost her daughter. Together, they embark on a killing spree of their own. Pat Gilfillan has written the screenplay. Sara Risher (Raise Your Voice) is producing the project with Darrin Reed, Julius Tennon and Damian Ganczewski. Rob Sharenow, Tanya Lopez, Lisa Hamilton Daly and Molly Thompson are executive producing the Lifetime Films and A+E Studios production.
Josh Kelley Scoring ‘Home Sweet Hell’
Country singer/songwriter Josh Kelley is making his film scoring debut on the upcoming comedy Home Sweet Hell. The film is directed by Anthony Burns (Skateland) and stars Katherine Heigl, Patrick Wilson, Jordana Brewster, Kevin McKidd, A.J. Buckley, Chi McBride and Jim Belushi. The movie, which was originally entitled North to Hell, follows a businessman whose life would be perfect if it weren’t for his domineering wife controlling his every move. Carlo Allen, Ted Elrick and Tom Lavagnino have written the screenplay. Burns and Buckley are also producing the Darko Entertainment and Donnybrook 4 production with Jeff Culotta & Sean McKittrick (Bad Words, Hell Baby, Jimi: All Is By My Side).
Antonio Pinto & Dudu Aram Scoring Tarsem Singh’s ‘Selfless’
Antonio Pinto and Dudu Aram have been tapped to score the upcoming sci-fi thriller Selfless. The film is directed by Tarsem Singh and stars Ryan Reynolds, Ben Kingsley, Matthew Goode, Natalie Martinez, Victor Garber and Derek Luke. The movie stars a terminally ill billionaire who buys a chance for eternal life through an experimental underground medical procedure, which transfers his consciousness into the cadaver of a younger man. Alex and David Pastor (Carriers, The Last Days) have written the screenplay. Ram Bergman (Looper, Don Jon, Brick) is producing the project with Endgame Entertainment’s James D. Stern and Peter Schlessel.
Nathaniel Mechaly to Return for ‘Taken 3’
Nathaniel Mechaly is reteaming with director Olivier Megaton to score the action thriller sequel Taken 3. The film stars Liam Neeson as ex-covert operative Bryan Mills, whose reconciliation with his ex-wife is tragically cut short when she is brutally murdered and is framed for the crime. Forest Whitaker, Famke Janssen, Maggie Grace, Dogray Scott, Sam Spruell and Leland Orser are co-starring. Luc Besson (Lucy, The Professional, The Fifth Element) has once again written the screenplay with Robert Mark Kamen and is also producing the EuropaCorp and M6 Films production. Mechaly has previously scored the first two installments in the Taken series and also collaborated with Megaton on the 2011 feature Colombiana starring Zoe Saldana.
Harry Gregson-Williams to Score Disneynature’s ‘Monkey Kingdom’
Harry Gregson-Williams mentioned in a recent interview with Music Times that he is currently scoring Disneynature’s upcoming documentary Monkey Kingdom. The film is directed by Mark Linfield (Chimpanzee, Earth) and co-directed by Alastair Fothergill (African Cats, Bears, Deep Blue) and spotlights the reality of a newborn monkey and its mother, struggling to survive within the competitive social hierarchy of the Temple Troop, a dynamic group of monkeys who live in ancient ruins found deep in the jungles of South Asia. Linfield and Fothergill are also producing the project. Monkey Kingdom is set to be released on Earth Day, April 17, 2015 by Walt Disney Pictures.
Danny Elfman to Score Justin Chadwick’s ‘Tulip Fever’
Danny Elfman revealed in a recent interview with LIVE105 that he will be composing the music for the upcoming period drama Tulip Fever. The film is directed by Justin Chadwick (The Other Boyleyn Girl) and stars Alicia Vikander, Dane DeHaan, Jack O’Connell, Christoph Waltz, Holliday Grainger, Zach Galifianakis, Judi Dench, Matthew Morrison, Tom Hollander, Cara Delevingne and Cressida Bonas. The movie is set in 17th century Amsterdam and follows a married woman who begins a passionate affair with an artist hired to paint her portrait. Tom Stoppard (Shakespeare in Love, Empire of the Sun, Brazil) has written the screenplay based on the romance novel by Deborah Moggach. Alison Owen (Saving Mr. Banks, Jane Eyre, Elizabeth) is producing the project for Ruby Films.
Paolo Buonvino Scoring Gabriele Muccino’s ‘Fathers and Daughters’
Paolo Buonvino has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming drama Fathers and Daughters. The film is directed by Gabriele Muccino (The Pursuit of Happyness, Seven Pounds) and stars Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Aaron Paul, Jane Fonda, Octavia Spencer, Quvenzhane Wallis, Diane Kruger, Bruce Greenwood and Janet McTeer. The movie follows a woman dealing with a crumbling relationship in the present and looking back on the relationship she had with her Pulitzer Prize-winning father, 25 years earlier. Brad Desch has written the Black List-honored screenplay. Craig J. Flores (Charlie Countryman) & Nicolas Chartier (The Hurt Locker, Killer Joe) are producing the project for Voltage Pictures, alongside Sherryl Clark (Plush) for Busted Shark Productions.
‘Zombie Broadway’ to Feature Music by Dave Stewart and Michael Bradford
Dave Stewart and Michael Bradford are writing original songs and music for the upcoming horror musical Zombie Broadway. The film based on Stewart’s own graphic novel of the same title is set in a Zombie-ridden, apocalyptic New York where the fate of the city lies in the hands of the only surviving musical theatre troop putting on the show of their lives. The movie is being described as Rocky Horror Picture Show meets Bullets Over Broadway. Cole Haddon (NBC’s Dracula) is writing the screenplay and Pam Williams & David Jacobson (Lee Daniels’ The Butler) are producing the project alongside Stewart. The former Eurythmics member has previously scored a number of film, including Robert Altman’s Cookie’s Fortune, Paul Verhoeven’s Showgirls and Ted Demme’s Beautiful Girls.
