The film starring Emmanuelle Seigner, Eva Green and Vincent Perez follows a Parisian author with writer’s block who discovers a mysterious woman at a book signing. Olivier Assayas (Personal Shopper, Clouds of Sils Maria) and Polanski wrote the screenplay based on Delphine de Vigan’s novel of the same title. Wassim Beji (Yves Saint Laurent, A Perfect Man) is producing the project for WY Productions.

Anton Sanko is composing the music for the upcoming drama The Seagull. The film is directed by Michael Mayer (A Home at the End of the World, Flicka) and stars Annette Bening, Saoirse Ronan, Corey Stoll, Elisabeth Moss, Brian Dennehy, Mare Winningham, Jon Tenney, Glenn Fleshler, Michael Zegen and Billy Howle. The movie is based on Anton Chekhov’s classic tragic story of eight people who fall in love with the wrong person. Stephen Karam (Speech & Debate) wrote the screenplay. Tom Hulce is producing the project with Leslie Urdang (Beginners, Adam) and Robert Salerno (21 Grams, Nocturnal Animals, A Single Man).
Philippe Rombi Scoring Francois Ozon’s ‘Amant Double’
Philippe Rombi is reteaming with director Francois Ozon on the upcoming French thriller Amant Double. The film is written and directed by Ozon and stars Jérémie Renier, Marine Vacth and Jacqueline Bisset. The movie follows a fragile young woman who falls in love with her psychoanalyst, but soon discovers that her lover is concealing part of his identity. Eric & Nicolas Altmayer (OSS 117, Saint Laurent) are producing the project. The composer is recording his score this month. Amant Double is rumored to premiere in May at the Cannes Film Festival and is set to be released later this year in France.

Harry Gregson-Williams is scoring the upcoming Australian drama Breath. The film marks the feature directorial debut of actor Simon Baker (The Mentalist) and stars Elizabeth Debicki, Richard Roxburgh and Rachael Blake. The movie is based on Tim Winton’s best-selling novel of the same title and follows two teenage boys, hungry for discovery, who form an unlikely friendship with a mysterious older adventurer, who pushes them to take risks that will have a lasting and profound impact on their lives.
Jed Kurzel to Score Kornél Mundruczó’s ‘Superfluous Man’
Jed Kurzel has been hired to score the upcoming Hungarian drama Superfluous Man (Felesleges ember). The film is directed by Kornél Mundruczó (White God) and stars Merab Ninidze, György Cserhalmi, Mónika Balsai and Zsombor Jéger. The movie centers around a young boy who is shot while trying to enter Hungary illegally and gains the power of levitation as a result of it. Mundruczó also co-wrote the screenplay with Kata Wéber (Pleasant Days).

The film tells the true story of Henry Bates, the son of a sock maker, who risked his life in the perilous Amazon in the 1850’s and discovered the “beautiful proof” for the greatest explanation ever put forward for the development of life on earth.

Hauschka (aka Volker Bertelmann) is composing the original music for the upcoming documentary AlphaGo. The film is directed by Greg Kohs (The Great Alone) and follows Google’s DeepMind team as it takes on one of the world’s top Go (Chinese board game) players in a weeklong tournament, pitting man against machine in a competition that reveals as much about the workings of the human mind as it does the future of AI.
