The film marks the feature directorial debut of Academy Award-winning actor Christoph Waltz who also stars in the movie alongside Annette Bening, Vanessa Redgrave and Corey Hawkins. The movie is based on the New York Times Magazine article by Franklin Foer and follows an ambitious social climber who marries a wealthy widow in Washington D.C. in order to mix with powerful political players. Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Revenant, The Last Emperor, The Sheltering Sky, Snake Eyes) is attached to score the upcoming thriller Born to Be Murdered. The film is directed by Ferdinando Cito Filomarino (Antonia) and stars John David Washington, Alicia Vikander, Boyd Holbrook and Vicky Krieps. The movie set in Athens and the Epirus region of Greece, where a vacationing couple fall trap to a violent conspiracy with tragic consequences. Kevin Rice wrote the screenplay. Luca Guadagnino & Marco Morabito (Call Me By Your Name, Suspiria) are producing the project for their Frenesy Films production company.
Atticus & Leopold Ross Scoring Wash Westmoreland’s ‘Earthquake Bird’
Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Leopold Ross (The Book of Eli, Triple 9) have recently scored the upcoming Netflix original movie Earthquake Bird. The film is written and directed by Wash Westmoreland (Still Alice, Colette) and stars Alicia Vikander, Riley Keough, Jack Huston and Naoki Kobayashi. The thriller is based on Susanna Jones’ novel of the same title and tells the story of young female expat who is suspected of murder after her friend goes missing in the wake of a tumultuous love triangle with a handsome local photographer. Kevin Walsh (Manchester by the Sea, All the Money in the World) & Michael Pruss (Equals, Zoe) are producing the project for Scott Free, alongside Ann Ruark (Wildlife, The Beaver) and Georgina Pope.
Gregoire Hetzel Scoring Arnaud Desplechin’s ‘Oh Mercy!’
This past week, Gregoire Hetzel (Incendies, Summertime, The Midwife) has recorded his music for the upcoming French thriller Oh Mercy! (Roubaix, une lumière). The film is written and directed by Arnaud Desplechin (Esther Khan, Jimmy P.) and stars Roschdy Zem, Antoine Reinartz, Léa Seydoux and Sara Forestier. The movie is set in the director’s native town of Roubaix in northern France and tells the true story of a crime in which two women murdered an elderly woman.
Mateo Messina to Score Nzingha Stewart’s Netflix Movie ‘Tall Girl’
Mateo Messina (Juno, Blockers, Butter, Barely Lethal) has signed on to score the upcoming Netflix original movie Tall Girl. The film is directed by Nzingha Stewart and stars Ava Michelle, Griffin Gluck, Luke Eisner, Sabrina Carpenter, Paris Berelc, Anjelika Washington, Steve Zahn, Angela Kinsey, Clara Wilsey and Rico Paris. The comedy centers on a six-foot-tall girl as she tries to make her way through high school feeling like an outcast. Sam Wolfson wrote the screenplay. McG (Charlie’s Angels, Terminator Salvation), Mary Viola (The Duff, I Feel Pretty, Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments) & Corey Marsh are producing the project for Wonderland.

George Fenton Scoring Ken Loach’s ‘Sorry We Missed You’
Composer George Fenton (Dangerous Liaisons, Groundhog Day, Hitch, The Blue Planet) is reuniting with director Ken Loach on the upcoming drama Sorry We Missed You. The film starring Kris Hitchen, Debbie Honeywood, Katie Proctor and Rhys Stone explores the issue of hardship in modern-day Britain through the story of a young couple scraping to get by in a casual jobs market.
