The movie is directed by Michael Dowse (Goon, What If) and stars Ed Helms, Taraji P. Henson, Terrence Little Gardenhigh, Betty Gilpin, RonReaco Lee, Andrew Bachelor and David Alan Grier. The action comedy revolves around a Detroit cop who reluctantly teams with his girlfriend’s 11 year-old son to clear his name and take down the city’s most ruthless criminal. Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, The Martian, Shrek, Kingdom of Heaven, Man on Fire) has been tapped to score the upcoming sci-fi action thriller Infinite. The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Magnificent Seven, Southpaw) and stars Mark Wahlberg, Dylan O’Brien, Sophie Cookson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Rupert Friend, Jason Mantzoukas and Tom Hughes. The movie is based on D. Eric Maikranz’s novel The Reincarnationist Papers and centers on a troubled young man haunted by memories of two past lives who stumbles upon Cognomina, a secret society of people who possess total recall of their past lives, and decides to join their ranks. John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side, Saving Mr. Banks) and Ian Shorr (Splinter) wrote the screenplay.
Ryuichi Sakamoto to Score Ann Hui’s ‘Love After Love’
Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Revenant, The Last Emperor, The Sheltering Sky, Snake Eyes) has been tapped to score the upcoming Chinese drama Love After Love. The film is directed by Ann Hui (A Simple Life, Our Time Will Come, The Golden Era) and stars Eddie Peng and Ma Sichun. The movie is based on Eileen Chang’s short story Aloeswood Incense and tells the story of a young woman from Shanghai who travels to Hong Kong, borrows money, and falls in with a rich crowd whose luxury lifestyle is beyond her means. Wang Anyi (Everlasting Regret) wrote the screenplay. The movie is produced by Alibaba Pictures, Hehe Pictures and Blue Bird Film.
Michael Giacchino to Return for ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’
Michael Giacchino has signed on to score the upcoming sci-fi action adventure Jurassic World: Dominion. The film is directed by Colin Trevorrow and stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith, BD Wong and Isabella Sermon and BD Wong who are reprising their roles from the previous Jurassic World and Jurassic Park films. They are joined by new cast members Mamoudou Athie, Dichen Lachman, DeWanda Wise and Scott Haze. No plot details have been announced yet. Trevorrow also wrote the screenplay with Emily Carmichael (Battle at Big Rock, Pacific Rim: Uprising).

Hans Zimmer to Reteam with Ron Howard on ‘Hillbilly Elegy’
Hans Zimmer is reteaming with director Ron Howard on the upcoming Netflix original film Hillbilly Elegy. The film starring Amy Adams, Glenn Close, Gabriel Basso, Haley Bennett, Freida Pinto, Bo Hopkins and Owen Asztalo is based on the bestselling memoir by J.D. Vance and follows a Yale law student who drawn back to his hometown grapples with family history, Appalachian values and the American dream. Vanessa Taylor (The Shape of Water, Divergent) wrote the screenplay. Howard (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13) is also producing the project with Brian Grazer (Friday Night Lights, 24) and Karen Lunder (Gifted) for Imagine Entertainment.

Kubilay Uner has composed the original score for the upcoming action drama Force of Nature. The film is directed by Michael Polish (The Astronaut Farmer, Twin Falls Idaho) and stars Mel Gibson, Kate Bosworth, Emile Hirsch, Stephanie Cayo, David Zayas and Jasper Polish. The movie revolves around a cop who must protect the remaining residents of a building in the midst of a hurricane evacuation while a gang of thieves attempt to pull off a mysterious heist within the building.

Grammy Award-winning rapper, record producer and singer/songwriter Hit-Boy has composed the original music for the upcoming Netflix original film Uncorked. The movie is written and directed by Prentice Penny (Insecure) and stars Mamoudou Athie, Courtney B. Vance, Niecy Nash, Matt McGorry, Sasha Compere, Gil Ozeri, Kelly Jenrette, Bernard David Jones and Meera Rohit Kumbhani. The drama centers on a young man who feels torn between his dream of becoming a master sommelier and his father’s expectations that he’ll take over the family barbecue business.
Rob Simonsen Scoring Jason Reitman’s ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’
Rob Simonsen (Love, Simon, Nerve, Foxcatcher, The Upside, (500) Days of Summer, The Spectacular Now) is currently scoring the upcoming supernatural comedy sequel Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The film is directed by Jason Reitman (Juno, Up in the Air) and stars Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace and Paul Rudd. The movie follows a single mom and her two kids as they arrive in a small town and begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind. Reitman also co-wrote the screenplay with Gil Kenan (Monster House, City of Ember). Ivan Reitman (Stripes, Kindergarten Cop, Dave) who directed the 1984 original Ghostbusters (scored by Elmer Bernstein) is producing the project.
Arturo Cardelús to Score Roc Espinet’s ‘Girl and Wolf’
Arturo Cardelús is set to compose the music for the upcoming animated feature Girl and Wolf (Chica y Lobo). The film marks the feature directorial debut of animator Roc Espinet (Birdboy: The Forgotten Children, Deadly Class) and is based on his own graphic novel about an innocent girl who grew up in an orphanage in a medieval village besieged by wolves and must deal with that adversity as well as gloomy childhood traumas, hunters and wild spirits. Xosé Zapatais producing the project for Sygnatia Films, alongside Álex Cervantes for Hampa Studio.
