Volker Bertelmann (aka Hauschka) (Lion, The Old Guard, Hotel Mumbai, Ammonite, Adrift, Stowaway, Your Honor) has been tapped to score the upcoming period drama Monte Verità. The film is directed by Stefan Jäger (Horizon Beautiful, Birthday) and stars Maresi Riegner, Max Hubacher, Julia Jentsch, Hannah Herzsprung and Joel Basman. The movie is set in the early 20th Century and tells the story of Hanna Leitner, a young woman struggling to escape bourgeois conventions who goes into therapy with the young psychoanalyst Otto Gross and follows him to Monte Verità, where she discovers the fascination of photography.
Hanan Townshend Scoring Julio Quintana’s Netflix Film ‘Blue Miracle’
Composer Hanan Townshend (Knight of Cups, To the Wonder, Outcry, Semper Fi) is reteaming with director Julio Quintana on the upcoming Netflix original film Blue Miracle. The movie starring Jimmy Gonzales, Dennis Quaid, Anthony Gonzalez, Bruce McGill, Raymond Cruz, Miguel Angel Garcia, Nathan Arenas, Isaac Arellanes, Steve Gutierrez, Dana Wheeler-Nicholson, Fernanda Urrejola and Silverio Palacios tells the true story of a guardian and his kids who partner with a washed-up boat captain for a chance to win a lucrative fishing competition in order to save their cash-strapped orphanage. Quintana also co-wrote the screenplay with Chris Dowling (Run the Race, Priceless).

Composer Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings, The Silence of the Lambs, The Aviator, Hugo, The Hobbit) is set to reteam with David Cronenberg on the upcoming sci-fi thriller Crimes of the Future. The film is written and directed by Cronenberg and will star Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux, Kristen Stewart, Scott Speedman, Welket Bungué, Don McKellar and Lihi Kornowski. The movie is set in the not-so-distant future where humankind is learning to adapt to its synthetic surroundings and follows a performance artist who has embraced “Accelerated Evolution Syndrome”, sprouting new and unexpected organs in his body and has turned the removal of these organs into a spectacle for his loyal followers.

Alex Lacamoire to Serve as Executive Music Producer & Score Composer on Kirk DeMicco’s ‘Vivo’
Alex Lacamoire has composed the original score for the upcoming animated musical Vivo. He also serves as the executive music producer on the movie, which is directed by Kirk DeMicco (The Croods) and features the voices of Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ynairaly Simo, Zoe Saldana, Juan de Marcos, Brian Tyree Henry, Gloria Estefan, Nicole Byer, Michael Rooker, Leslie David Baker, Katie Lowes, Olivia Trujillo and Lidya Jewett. As previously announced, Miranda has written and is performing original songs for the film, which follows a one-of-kind kinkajou who spends his days playing music to the crowds in a lively Havana and makes a treacherous passage to Miami to fulfill his destiny. Nathan Halpern is composing the original music for the upcoming revenge thriller Catch the Fair One. Thomas Newman Scoring Channing Tatum’s & Reid Carolin’s ‘Dog’
Thomas Newman (American Beauty, The Shawshank Redemption, Finding Nemo, 1917, Skyfall, Road to Perdition) has recently been scoring the upcoming road-trip comedy Dog. The film marks the directorial debut of actor Channing Tatum and writer/producer Reid Carolin (Magic Mike, Logan Lucky) and stars Tatum himself, alongside Q’Orianka Kilcher. The movie follows a hard-charging former Army Ranger and his Belgian Malinois companion as they race down the Pacific Coast in hopes of making it to a fellow soldier’s funeral on time. Carolin also wrote the screenplay based on a story by himself and Brett Rodriguez who is producing the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) production with Gregory Jacobs (Edge of Tomorrow, The Knick) and Peter Kiernan (Fatherhood, 6 Balloons).
