The film is directed by Domee Shi (Bao) and features the voices of Rosalie Chiang and Sandra Oh. The movie revolves around a 13-year-old girl who suddenly “poofs” into a giant red panda when she gets too excited and her over-protective, mother who is never far from her daughter. Lindsey Collins (Finding Dory, John Carter) is producing the Pixar Animation Studios production.

Composer Clinton Shorter (District 9, Pompeii, The Expanse, Contraband, Colony) is reuniting with director Joe Carnahan (Narc, The Grey, The A-Team) on the upcoming action thriller Copshop. The film starring Gerard Butler, Frank Grillo, Alexis Louder, Ryan O’Nan, Kaiwi Lyman-Mersereau and Toby Huss follows a wily con artist who is on the run from a lethal assassin and devises a scheme to hide out inside a small-town police station, where an unsuspecting rookie cop finds herself caught in the crosshairs.
Carter Burwell to Score Kevin Frakes’ ‘The Alchemist’
Carter Burwell (Fargo, Carol, True Grit, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Twilight, In Bruges) is attached to score the upcoming drama The Alchemist. The film marks the directorial debut of producer Kevin Frakes (Hereditary, Laggies) and will star Sebastian de Souza, Tom Hollander, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Jordi Molla, Youssef Kerkour and Ashraf Barhom. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Paulo Coelho and tells the story of a young Andalusian shepherd boy named Santiago on an epic quest for life-changing treasure.
Jeff Cardoni Scoring Trent O’Donnell’s ‘Ride the Eagle’
Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, The Kominsky Method, CSI: Miami) has recently scored the upcoming indie comedy Ride the Eagle. The film is directed by Trent O’Donnell (No Activity, The Moodys) and stars Jake Johnson, Susan Sarandon, J.K. Simmons and D’Arcy Carden. The movie follows a man who – after his estranged mother leaves him a “conditional inheritance” following her death – has to complete her elaborate and sometimes dubious to-do list vefore he can move into her picturesque Yosemite cabin.

Steven Price (Gravity, Our Planet, Suicide Squad, Fury, Baby Driver, Over the Moon) has recently been recording his score for the upcoming sci-fi comedy Distant. The film is directed by Will Speck & Josh Gordon (Blades of Glory, Office Christmas Party) and stars Anthony Ramos, Naomi Scott and Kristofer Hivju. The movie tells the story of an asteroid miner who crash-lands on an alien planet and must contend with the challenges of his new surroundings, while making his way across the harsh terrain to the only other survivor – a woman who is trapped in her escape pod. The film marks the feature directorial of Halle Berry who also stars in the movie, alongside Adan Canto, Sheila Atim, Stephen McKinley Henderson and Shamier Anderson. The drama follows a former MMA fighter struggling to regain custody of her son and restart her athletic career. Michelle Rosenfarb wrote the screenplay.

Composer Grégoire Hetzel (Incendies, Summertime, The Midwife) is reuniting with director Arnaud Desplechin (Esther Khan, Jimmy P.) on the upcoming French drama Deception (Tromperie). The film starring Léa Seydoux, Denis Podalydès, Emmanuelle Devos, Anouk Grinberg & Rebecca Marder is based on Philip Roth’s autobiographical novel and revolves around an American novelist living in London as he converses with his wife, his mistress, and other female characters he may have dreamed up. Desplechin also co-wrote the screenplay with Julie Peyr.
Ari Folman’s ‘Where Is Anne Frank’ to Feature Music by Karen O & Ben Goldwasser
Karen O (of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and Ben Goldwasser (of the rock band MGMT) have composed the original music for the upcoming animated feature Where Is Anne Frank. The film is written and directed by Ari Folman (Waltz with Bashir, The Congress) and features the voices of Emily Carey, Ruby Stokes, Sebastian Croft, Ralph Prosser and Michaël Maloney and Tracy Ann Oberman. The movie tells the story of Kitty, Anne Frank’s imaginary friend, the one that Anne devoted her entire diary to, as she magically comes to life at the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam and sets out on a relentless quest to find Anne.
Roque Banos Scoring Rodo Sayagues’ ‘Don’t Breathe 2’
Roque Banos (The Machinist, Evil Dead, In the Heart of the Sea, The Girl in the Spider’s Web, Sexy Beast, Come Play) is returning as the composer of the upcoming horror sequel Don’t Breathe 2. The film is directed by Rodo Sayagues (who co-wrote and co-produced the original 2016 film) and stars Stephen Lang who reprises his role a Norman Nordstrom. The movie is set in the years following the initial deadly home invasion, where Nordstrom lives in quiet solace until his past sins catch up to him. Sayagues also co-wrote the screenplay with Fede Alvarez who helmed the original film.
Rolfe Kent Scoring Mark Waters’ ‘He’s All That’
Rolfe Kent (Sideways, About Schmidt, Wedding Crashers, Election, Up in the Air, Downsizing) is scoring the upcoming romantic comedy He’s All That. The film is directed by Mark Waters (The Spiderwick Chronicles) and stars Addison Rae, Tanner Buchanan, Madison Pettis, Isabella Crovetti, Peyton Meyer, Annie Jacob, Myra Molloy, Rachael Leigh Cook and Matthew Lillard.
