Composers Geoff Barrow & Ben Salisbury are reuniting with director Alex Garland on the upcoming horror drama Men. The film is written and directed by Garland and stars Jessie Buckley and Rory Kinnear. The movie revolves around a young woman who goes on a solo vacation to the English countryside after the death of her ex-husband. DNA’s Andrew Macdonald (28 Days Later.., Trainspotting) and Allon Reich (Dredd, Never Let Me Go) are producing the project.

Jacob Mühlrad Scoring Björn Runge’s ‘Burn All My Letters’
Art music composer Jacob Mühlrad is making his film scoring debut on the upcoming Swedish drama Burn All My Letters (Bränn alla mina brev). The film is directed by Björn Runge (The Wife, Daybreak) and stars Bill Skarsgård, Asta Kamma August, Sverrir Gudnason, Gustav Lindh and Sonja Richter. The movie based on Alex Schulman’s best-selling novel of the same title is set in three different timelines and centers on woman’s love affair that starts in the 1930s and leads to unexpected consequences for the future generations to come. Veronica Zacco (Top Dog) wrote the screenplay.
Lorne Balfe to Score Jon S. Baird’s ‘Tetris’
Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Black Widow, The LEGO Batman Movie, Bad Boys for Life, The Crown) has been hired to score the upcoming biographical drama Tetris. The film is directed by Jon S. Baird (Stan & Ollie, Filth) and stars Taron Egerton as Henk Rogers, a Dutch video game designer who first secured the rights to distribute Tetris on consoles, Nikita Efremov as Russian software engineer Alexey Pajitnov who first created the game, Roger Allam & Anthony Boyle as businessmen Robert and Kevin Maxwell, as well as Toby Jones. The movie centers on the legal battle that arose over the franchise’s copyright in the 1980s.
John Williams to Reteam with Steven Spielberg on ‘The Fabelmans’
Variety has confirmed that John Williams is reteaming with Steven Spielberg on the upcoming drama The Fabelmans. The composer is currently scoring the film and will be recording his music next month in Los Angeles. The movie, which is loosely based on Spielberg’s childhood, stars Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen, Paul Dano and Gabriel LaBelle. Spielberg also co-wrote the screenplay with Tony Kushner (Munich, West Side Story).
Daniel Wohl Scoring Kim Farrant’s Netflix Film ‘The Weekend Away’
Daniel Wohl (Project Blue Book, Search Party, The Stand In, They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead) has composed the original music for the upcoming Netflix original film The Weekend Away. The movie is directed by Kim Farrant (Strangerland, Angel of Mine) and stars Leighton Meester, Christina Wolfe, Ziad Bakri, Luke Norris, Iva Mihalić, Amar Bukvić, Adrian Pezdirc and Parth Thakerar. The thriller is based on a novel by Sarah Alderson (who also wrote the screenplay) and follows two best friends on a weekend getaway in Croatia when one of them is accused of killing the other and her efforts to get to the truth uncover a painful secret.

Mario Grigorov (Precious, The Paperboy, Shadowdancer, Kill Chain, Petals on the Wind) has recently scored the upcoming German drama The Forger (Der Passfälscher). The film is written and directed by Maggie Peren (Color of the Ocean, Stellungswechsel) and stars Louis Hofmann, Jonathan Berlin, Luna Wedler, Nina Gummich, André Jung, Marc Limpach and Yotam Ishay. The movie tells the true story of Cioma Schönhaus, a Jewish man who, during the Second World War, repeatedly escaped the Gestapo thanks to his ability to forge passports.

The movie revolves around a West Texas single mother who won the lottery and after the money is gone fights to rebuild her life and find redemption. Ryan Binaco (3022) wrote the screenplay.

Tindersticks are reteaming with director Claire Denis on the upcoming French drama Both Sides of the Blade (Avec amour et acharnement).
