Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Shape of Water, The King’s Speech, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) has composed the original music for the upcoming British comedy drama The Lost King. The film is directed by Stephen Frears (Dangerous Liaisons, Dirty Pretty Things) and stars Sally Hawkins, Steve Coogan and Harry Lloyd. The movie tells the true story of Philippa Langley, the woman who uncovered King Richard III’s remains which had been lost for 500 years in 2012. Coogan also co-wrote the screenplay with Jeff Pope (Philomena, Stan & Ollie). He is also producing the Baby Cow, BBC Films and Pathé production with Christine Langan (Camping) and Dan Winch (Quiz). Desplat has previously collaborated with Frears on the features The Queen, Philomena, Chéri, Tamara Drewe and Florence Foster Jenkins. The Lost King will be released this year.
