Varese Sarabande Records has published the track list and cover art for the upcoming soundtrack release for I Am Number Four. The album features 21 tracks from Trevor Rabin’s score for the film. WaterTower Music has announced a soundtrack release for the upcoming comic book adaptation of Green Lantern. The album includes James Newton Howard’s original score from the movie. The soundtrack will be released on May 24, 2011 and more details, including cover art and track list will be published in the next couple of weeks. Check back on this page for updates. James Newton Howard’s score was recorded earlier this month in Los Angeles with a 104-piece orchestra. Green Lantern is directed by Martin Campbell and stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Saarsgard and Mark Strong. Warner Bros is set to release the movie on June 17.
‘The Hangover Part II’ Soundtrack Details
WaterTower Music has revealed the details for the soundtrack release of the comedy sequel The Hangover Part II. The album includes 12 songs from the movie. Artists featured on the soundtrack include Wolfmother, Danzig, Billy Joel, and Curtis Mayfield. Also included are several on-screen performances from the film, including the Thai wedding band, Ska Rangers, covering I Ran and Just The Way You Are, Mike Tyson singing One Night in Bangkok, as well as the song Allentown, performed by Ed Helms’ character. None of Christophe Beck’s original score is featured on the album. The score for the first part was released closer to the film’s home video release, which makes a separate score album to come out later seem possible. BREAKING NEWS: Alexandre Desplat to Score George Clooney’s ‘The Ides of March’
Film Music Reporter has learned that Alexandre Desplat has signed on to score the drama The Ides of March. George Clooney directs and stars in the film about a young press spokesman, played by Ryan Gosling, who falls prey to backroom politics, the treacherous manipulations of veteran operatives and the seduction of a young intern. The movie is an adaptation of the Broadway play Farragut North and co-stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Evan Rachel Wood, Marisa Tomei, Max Minghella and Jeffrey Wright. Clooney adapted the play for the screen with Grant Heslov who previously co-wrote the director’s Academy-Award-nominated drama Good Night, and Good Luck.
Soundtrack for HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ Coming

Varese Sarabande Records has announced a soundtrack album for HBO’s hit show Game of Thrones. The album includes Ramin Djawadi’s original score from the show. The soundtrack will be released on June 14, 2011. More details on the album will be published next month. To pre-order the CD, visit Amazon. It is expected that Djawadi’s main theme will be included on the soundtrack (check out a video of the main titles sequence below). Game of Thrones premiered on April 17 and already got picked up for a second season. The show created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and starring Sean Bean, Peter Dinklage, Mark Addy, Lena Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Michelle Fairley and Emilia Clarke is currently airing every Sunday night on HBO.
Michael Giacchino’s ‘Cars 2’ Soundtrack announced
Walt Disney Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Pixar animation sequel Cars 2. The album includes Michael Giacchino’s original score from the film. According to the Pixar Blog, there will also be two original songs featured on the album, including a duet by two male artists. The soundtrack will be released on June 14, 2011 and can be pre-ordered on Amazon. A track list for the album will be posted when it gets published. Movieweb recently interviewed Giacchino about the project at a press event at Pixar’s Emeryville, California facility. Clint Mansell’s ‘United’ Score released
Black Records has released a soundtrack album for the BBC drama United. The album includes Clint Mansell’s original score from the TV movie. To listen to audio clips and download the soundtrack, visit iTunes. United is directed by James Strong and stars David Tennant, Sam Claflin, Jack O’Donnell and Dougray Scott. The film is based on the true story of soccer team Manchester United’s legendary “Busby Babes”, the youngest side ever to win the Football League and the 1958 Munich air crash that claimed eight of the their number. United premieres tonight in the UK. No word yet on a release of the movie in the States.
‘These Amazing Shadows’ Soundtrack announced
Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack release for the documentary These Amazing Shadows. The album includes the original score by Peter Golub (The Great Debaters, Frozen River, Countdown to Zero). The music was recorded with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra last fall. These Amazing Shadows is directed by Paul Mariano and Kurt Norton and tells the history and importance of The National Film Registry, a roll call of American cinema treasures that reflects the diversity of film. The talent interviewed for the documentary includes Rob Reiner, John Waters, Leonard Maltin, Gale Anne Hurd, John Singleton, Tim Roth and Wayne Wang.

Film Music Reporter has received the track list of the soundtrack for the adventure sequel Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The album features 11 tracks of the original score by Hans Zimmer and Rodrigo y Gabriela, as well as a number of remixes by electronic music artists Photek, Static Avenger, Ki:Theory and Adam Freeland. Also credited on the album is Eric Whitacre (who joined the music team as reported here) and composer Geoff Zanelli.
