Varese Sarabande has announced two new titles in the label’s limited edition soundtrack series. First up is a soundtrack album for the family comedy A Thousand Words. The album features the film’s original score composed by John Debney. The CD is limited to 1000 copies and is available for pre-order on Varese’s website, where you can also listen to audio clips and check out the track list. A video from the orchestral score’s recording sessions can be checked out on YouTube. A Thousand Words directed by Brian Robbins and starring Eddie Murphy, Ariel Winter, Kerry Washington and Allison Janney opened in theaters earlier this year. The film has also just been released on Blu-Ray and DVD.

New Edition of Alan Silvestri’s ‘Predator’ Soundtrack Announced
Intrada Records has announced a remastered soundtrack edition for the 1987 horror thriller classic Predator directed by John McTiernan and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The album features the original score from the film by Alan Silvestri. The score has previously received limited editions releases by the label and Varese Sarabande, both of which sold out in record time. Expanded ‘Speed’ Soundtrack by Mark Mancina Released
La-La Land Records has released a new soundtrack edition for the 1994 action hit film Speed directed by Jan De Bont and starring Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock and Dennis Hopper. The album includes the remastered and expanded score composed by Mark Mancina (Training Day, Con Air). The release presents its tracks in film order and includes the end titles song Speed performed by Billy Idol. Expanded ‘Planet of the Apes’ Score by Danny Elfman Released
La-La Land Records has announced two new limited editon soundtrack albums. First up is an expanded release of the original score from Tim Burton’s 2001 version of Planet of the Apes composed by Danny Elfman. The 3-disc set includes the film version of the score, including source cues and alternates, on two discs, as well as the original 2001 soundtrack album, which includes the Rule the Planet remix by Paul Oakenfold. John Williams’ Family Plot soundtrack release announced
Varese Sarabande has announced the first CD release of John Williams’ score for Alfred Hitchcock’s Family Plot. Only the film’s end credits has previously been released. Hitchcock’s last movie stars Bruce Dern and Barbara Harris centers around a phony psychic/con artist and her taxi driver/private investigator boyfriend who encounter a pair of serial kidnappers while trailing a missing heir in California.
