Varese Sarabande has announced two new titles in the label’s limited edition soundtrack series. First up is a soundtrack album for the family comedy A Thousand Words. The album features the film’s original score composed by John Debney. The CD is limited to 1000 copies and is available for pre-order on Varese’s website, where you can also listen to audio clips and check out the track list. A video from the orchestral score’s recording sessions can be checked out on YouTube. A Thousand Words directed by Brian Robbins and starring Eddie Murphy, Ariel Winter, Kerry Washington and Allison Janney opened in theaters earlier this year. The second new title is a soundtrack release for the sports drama The Mighty Macs. The album features the film’s original music composed by William Ross. The Mighty Macs directed by Tim Chambers and starring Carla Gugino, Marley Shelton, David Boreanaz and Ellen Burstyn is based on the true story of the 1971-72 Immaculata College team that started in obscurity but became the original Cinderella story in women’s basketball. The second title in the Varese Encore series is the soundtrack for the 1986 drama Crimes of the Heart directed by Bruce Beresford and starring Diane Keaton, Jessica Lange and Sissy Spacek.
