Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack release for the thriller Dream House. The album includes 15 tracks of the movie’s original score composed by John Debney. ‘The Change-Up’ Soundtrack released
Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album for the comedy The Change-Up. The album includes the film’s original score by composer John Debney, as well as a couple of tracks composed by Theodore Shapiro who was the original main composer of the movie. The soundtrack is available to download on iTunes, where you can listen to audio clips from all tracks. The Change-Up is directed by David Dobkin (The Wedding Crashers) and stars Ryan Reynolds, Jason Bateman, Leslie Mann, Alan Arkin and Olivia Wilde. The movie centers on a married guy who accidentally changes bodies with his single best friend and ends up pursuing a female coworker. The comedy was released earlier this month by Universal Pictures and is currently playing in theaters.

‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ Soundtrack Set released
La-La Land Records has released a new soundtrack set for the sci-fi series Star Trek: The Next Generation. The 3CD-set features more than three hours of previously unreleased music from the show by composers Dennis McCarthy, Jay Chattaway, Don Davis, John Debney and Fred Steiner. Star Trek: The Next Generation created by Gene Roddenberry and starring Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner, Denise Crosby and Wil Wheaton aired from 1987 to 1994 and was the longest-running Star Trek series.

Two new movies are opening wide this weekend:
The sci-fi adventure prequel Rise of the Planet of the Apes directed by Rupert Hyatt and starring James Franco, Freida Pinto, Andy Serkis, John Lithgow and Brian Cox is already guaranteed to top the weekend box office. The film’s music is composed by Patrick Doyle. A soundtrack album featuring the Doyle’s score will be released on CD later this month on Varese Sarabande. John Debney to Score ‘The Three Stooges’
John Debney has been hired to score the upcoming slapstick comedy The Three Stooges. The film based on the mid-20th century comedy shorts is directed by Bobby and Peter Farrelly (There’s Something About Mary, Dumb and Dumber). The movie stars Chris Diamantopolous as Moe Howard, Sean Hayes as Larry Fine and Will Sasso as Curly Howard. Sofia Vergara, Jane Lynch, Larry David, Jennifer Hudson, Craig Bierko and Carly Craig are co-starring. Mike Cerrone (Me, Myself and Irene) co-wrote the screenplay with the Farrelly Brothers who are also producing with Bradley Thomas and Charles B. Wessler. The Three Stooges takes place when the trio are dumped out as newborns at the door of an orphanage and the story follows them into adulthood. According to an interview with Peter Farrelly on EW.com, the film is structured in three acts, each a stand-alone story like the original episodes, but loosely connected.
New Video Game Soundtracks by John Debney, Brian Reitzell and Jim Dooley released
A couple of new video game soundtracks composed by some prominent film and TV composers have recently been announced. Coming out next week is the second volume for John Debney’s music for The Sims Medieval. The soundtrack features eight new score tracks by the composer and will be released on June 7 by Electronic Arts Recordings. To download the album, visit Amazon and check out the audio clips below. The first volume has been released in April and is also available to download on Amazon. The Sims Medieval is based on The Sims 3 Engine and is set in medieval times. The game allows the player to build a kingdom through quest-driven gameplay. The project marks Debney’s second score for a major video game title after his critically acclaimed music for 2007’s Lair.

John Debney has signed on to score the upcoming thriller Dream House. The film is directed by Jim Sheridan (In America, My Left Foot) and stars Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts. The movie centers on a successful publisher who quits his job in New York City and relocates his wife and two daughters to a quaint New England town, only to discover that their perfect new home was the murder scene of a mother and her two children. Among the project’s producers are Ehren Kruger (screenwriter of The Ring), David Bobker (The Skeleton Key) and James G. Robinson & David Robinson for Morgan Creek Productions.

John Debney to score ‘New Year’s Eve’
John Debney has been hired to score the upcoming Garry Marshall-directed romantic comedy New Year’s Eve. The film tells intertwining stories of a group of New Yorkers as they navigate their way through bittersweet drama and romance over the course of New Year’s Eve. The movie follows the concept of 2009’s hit romantic comedy Valentine’s Day with Ashton Kutcher and Jessica Biel reappearing as different characters. The film’s cast also includes Sarah Jessica Parker, Halle Berry, Robert De Niro, Sofia Vergara, Jon Bon Jovi, Hilary Swank, Lea Michele, Zac Efron, Abigail Breslin, Michelle Pfeiffer and Alyssa Milano. John Debney has become Garry Marshall’s regular composer, scoring all of Marshall’s movie in the last decade including The Princess Diaries movies, Raising Helen, Georgia Rule and Valentine’s Day.
