Hollywood Records will release the official soundtrack album for the Hulu limited series Washington Black. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed and conducted by Cameron Moody (Kennedy, Sincerely, Los Angeles). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, July 25 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Washington Black is developed by Selwyn Seyfu Hinds based on the novel of the same name by Esi Edugyan and stars Ernest Kingsley Jr., Sterling K. Brown, Rupert Graves, Iola Evans, Edward Bluemel, Eddie Karanja, Sharon Duncan Brewster and Tom Ellis. The 8-part historical drama chronicles the 19th-century odyssey of George Washington “Wash” Black, an 11-year-old boy born on a Barbados sugar plantation, whose prodigious scientific mind sets him on a path of unexpected destiny.

Chanda Dancy Scoring Rachel Lee Goldenberg’s ‘Swiped’
Chanda Dancy (Blink Twice, One of Them Days, Devotion, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, I Wanna Dance with Somebody, The Defeated) has composed the original music for the upcoming biographical drama Swiped. The film is directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg (Unpregnant, Valley Girl) and stars Lily James, Myha’la, Jackson White, Dan Stevens, Pierson Fode, Ben Schnetzer, Ian Colletti, Aidan Laprete, Mary Neely, Ana Yi Puig, Pedro Correa, Coral Peña and Hunter Sansone. The movie is inspired by the true story of online dating platform Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd who became one of the youngest self-made billionaires at age 31.

Premiering tomorrow, July 21, is the Netflix original series The Hunting Wives created by Rebecca Cutter and starring Brittany Snow, Malin Akerman, Jaime Ray Newman, Chrissy Metz, George Ferrier, Dermot Mulroney, Evan Jonigkeit, Katie Lowes, Chosen Jacobs and Branton Box. The show’s original music is composed by Jeff Danna (The Good Dinosaur, The Addams Family, Onward, Alias Grace, Tyrant, The Boondock Saints, Silent Hill, Camelot, Julia, Storks). The film’s original music is composed by Sami Jano (We Feed People, Dads, Pets, Harlem Ice, David Blaine Do Not Attempt). The ABC News Studios & Imagine Documentaries production, which examines the broadcast legend’s pivotal role in the history of journalism and her pioneering example for women in the industry, premiered earlier this month at the Tribeca Film Festival and will be available to stream on Hulu.
Premiering on Tuesday, June 24, is the Disney+ original series Ironheart developed by Chinaka Hodge and stars Dominique Thorne, Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, Manny Montana, Alden Ehrenreich, Anji White, Matthew Elam and Regan Aliyah. The movie follows three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a WWII pilot who to investigates an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause, a Viking raider guiding her son on a quest for revenge and a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a succession battle.
