Premiering tomorrow, June 23, is the documentary Barbara Walters: Tell Me Everything directed by Jackie Jesko, produced by Marcella Steingart, Sara Bernstein & Meredith Kaulfers and executive produced by Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Justin Wilkes and Betsy West. The film’s original music is composed by Sami Jano (We Feed People, Dads, Pets, Harlem Ice, David Blaine Do Not Attempt). The ABC News Studios & Imagine Documentaries production, which examines the broadcast legend’s pivotal role in the history of journalism and her pioneering example for women in the industry, premiered earlier this month at the Tribeca Film Festival and will be available to stream on Hulu.
Premiering on Tuesday, June 24, is the Disney+ original series Ironheart developed by Chinaka Hodge and stars Dominique Thorne, Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, Manny Montana, Alden Ehrenreich, Anji White, Matthew Elam and Regan Aliyah. Dara Taylor (Strays, The Invitation, The Tender Bar, Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, Straw, Echo Boomers, Meet Me Next Christmas) has composed the show’s original music. Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s title theme this past Friday. Also premiering on Tuesday is the HBO original documentary Enigma directed by Zackary Drucker and produced by Madison Passarelli, Douglas Banker, Alex Garinger, Noah Levy, Donovan Lovell, Stephen B. Strout. The film’s original music is composed by Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, The Outsider, Speak No Evil, Presumed Innocent, Enemy, The Gift, The Staircase, The White Tiger, Boy Erased, Tokyo Vice) with James Newberry (Wolfgang, Barron’s Cove, The Lady and the Dale). The movie, which chronicles the divergent paths of iconic pioneers April Ashley who was immortalized as a trailblazer by embracing her transgender history and Amanda Lear who has consciously denied and obfuscated her history for decades, premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival (under the title April & Amanda) and will air on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.
Premiering on Wednesday, June 25, is the Prime Video original series Countdown created by Derek Haas and starring Jensen Ackles, Eric Dane, Jessica Camacho, Violett Beane, Elliot Knight and Uli Latukefu. Tony Morales (Reacher, FUBAR, Scorpion, Elena of Avalor, The Bag Man, The Fugitive, Hatfield & McCoys, Bloodline, In Your Eyes) has composed the show’s original music. Premiering on Friday, June 27, is Apple TV+ limited series Smoke created by Dennis Lehane and starring Taron Egerton, Jurnee Smollett, Greg Kinnear, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Rafe Spall, Hannah Emily Anderson, Anna Chlumsky, Adina Porter and John Leguizamo. The show’s original score is composed by Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans. Thom Yorke has contributed the original opening titles song, Dialing In. Platoon has released a digital single featuring the song as a digital single last month. Cornel Wilczek (Talk to Me, Bring Her Back, Together, Apple Cider Vinegar, These Final Hours, Clickbait, Glitch, Nowhere Boys) has composed the film’s original music. The movie, which follows a group of orphans who flees in search of a new life after a deadly viral outbreak,, only to be taken hostage by a woman hiding a sinister secret, premiered at last year’s Sitges Film Festival and will be available to stream exclusively on TUBI.
