Joseph Shirley has recently been scoring the third season of Lucasfilm’s Disney+ original series The Mandalorian. The composer has previously provided additional music to the first two seasons of the show as part of Ludwig Göransson’s team. While the full Season 3 music credits have not been confirmed yet, our understanding is that it will be similar to last year’s The Book of Boba Fett with Shirley being credited as the score composer and Göransson for providing the themes.

Soundtrack Album for Disney+’s ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return’ to Be Released
Walt Disney Records will release a soundtrack album for Lucasfilm’s Disney+ documentary special Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return. The album the special’s original music composed by Scott Michael Smith & Michael Dean Parsons (Sketchbook). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, February 3 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return is directed by David Gelb and explores the return of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker to the screen, as well as Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen to their classic roles for last year’s Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series.
Ariel Marx Scoring National Geographic’s & Disney+’s ‘A Small Light’
Ariel Marx (Shiva Baby, A Friend of the Family, Candy, Ted Bundy: Falling for a Killer, The Tale, Rebel Hearts) has been tapped to score the upcoming National Geographic limited series A Small Light. The show is developed by Joan Rater & Tony Phelan (Grey’s Anatomy, Fire Country) and stars Bel Powley, Joe Cole, Liev Schreiber, Amira Casar, Billie Boullet, Ashley Brooke, Eleanor Tomlinson, Andy Nyman, Caroline Catz, Sally Messham, Noah Taylor, Ian McElhinney, Nicholas Burns, Laurie Kynaston, Liza Sadovy and Sebastian Armesto. The 8-part drama tells the story of a 20-something secretary who didn’t hesitate when her boss, Otto Frank (father of Anne Frank), asked her to hide him and his family from the Nazis during World War II.
‘National Treasure: Edge of History’ Soundtrack Album Details
Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the Disney+ original series National Treasure: Edge of History. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by Trevor Rabin (Remember the Titans, Armageddon, Con Air, Gone in 60 Seconds, Bad Boys 2) who previously scored both National Treasure features. Paul Linford (12 Monkeys) contributed additional music. Also included are several songs performed by lead actor Jake Austin Walker. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 18. Disney+ Announces ‘Voices Rising: The Music of Wakanda Forever’ Docuseries
Disney+ has announced Voices Rising: The Music of Wakanda Forever, a new documentary series focusing on the music from Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The show centers on the songs and score from the movie and features interview with director Ryan Coogler, composer Ludwig Göransson, among others. Check out the series’ trailer after the jump. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been Oscar-shortlisted in both the “original score” and “original song” categories for Göransson’s score and the original song Lift Me Up co-written (with Tems, Göransson & Coogler) and performed by Rihanna.
Details for Disney+’s ‘Willow’ – Volume 3 (Episodes 7-8) Soundtrack Album Revealed
The details of the third soundtrack album for Lucasfilm’s Disney+ original series Willow have been revealed. The album features selections of the original score from from the seventh and eighth episode of the show composed by Xander Rodzinski (Dead for a Dollar, Light & Magic, The Last Ice). The Volume 3 soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 13 by Walt Disney Records and will be available to stream/download here. A first album featuring James Newton Howard’s score from Episodes 1-3 has previously been released in December and a second album featuring Rodzinski’s music from Episodes 4-6 was released last Friday.
Amelia Warner Scoring Joachim Rønning’s ‘Young Woman and the Sea’
Amelia Warner (Mary Shelley, Mr. Malcolm’s List, Wild Mountain Thyme, Mum’s List) is currently recording her score for the upcoming biographical drama Young Woman and the Sea. The film is directed by Joachim Rønning (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Kon-Toki, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil) and stars Daisy Ridley, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Christopher Eccleston and Stephen Graham. The movie is based on the book of the same title by Glenn Stout and chronicles the journey of Gertrude “Trudy” Ederle , the first woman to ever swim across the English Channel in 1926.

Mathieu Lamboley to Score Romain Cogitore’s ‘Une zone à défendre’
Mathieu Lamboley (Lupin, A Minuscule Adventure, Sisters in Arms, The Last Mercenary, The Rose Maker, The Accusation) has been hired to score the upcoming romantic thriller Une zone à défendre. The project, which marks Disney+’s first French original movie, is written and directed by Romain Cogitore and stars François Civil and Lyna Khoudri. The movie centers on the relationship between a woman campaigning to stop the construction of a dam in a conservation area and an undercover police officer who infiltrates her group of eco-activists.
