Executive producers Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner announced today that Rihanna will perform the Academy Award-nominated song Lift Me Up from Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at the 95th Oscar, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, on Sunday, March 12, 2023. The song, which is written by Tems, Rihanna herself, Coogler & the film’s composer Ludwig Göransson, is one of the five nominated songs in the Original Song category.

Disney+ Announces ‘Voices Rising: The Music of Wakanda Forever’ Docuseries
Disney+ has announced Voices Rising: The Music of Wakanda Forever, a new documentary series focusing on the music from Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The show centers on the songs and score from the movie and features interview with director Ryan Coogler, composer Ludwig Göransson, among others. Check out the series’ trailer after the jump. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the superhero movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Florence Kasumba, Winston Duke and Michaela Coel. The film’s original score is composed by Ludwig Göransson (The Mandalorian, Creed, Tenet, Community, Turning Red). Hollywood Records & Marvel Music have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today (click here for the full album details) and a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from and inspired by the movie was released last Friday by Hollywood & Roc Nation Records & Def Jam Recordings (click here for more information).
Opening in select theaters today is the coming-of-age drama The Fabelmans directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Gabriel LaBelle, Seth Rogen, Julia Butters, Robin Bartlett, Jeannie Berlin, Keeley Karsten and Judd Hirsch. John Williams (Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park, Jaws, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Schindler’s List) has composed the film’s original music. Roc Nation Records, Def Jam Recordings & Hollywood Records have released an additional song from Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music platforms is the end credits song Born Again co-written (with James Fauntleroy, Terius Nash (aka The-Dream), Busiswa Gqulu & Ludwig Göransson) and performed by Rihanna. The full details of the score album for Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Ludwig Göransson (The Mandalorian, Tenet, Creed, Community, Fruitvale Station, Venom, Turning Red) who received his first Academy Award for his music for the original 2018 movie. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 11 by Hollywood Records & Marvel Music and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. A separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie co-written and produced by Göransson was released last week.

The album features nineteen songs from and inspired by the film by artists such as Rihanna (whose original song Lift Me Up was released last Friday), Tems, Fireboy DML, CKay Ft. PinkPantheress, OG DAYV Ft. Future, E-40 & others. Director Ryan Coogler, composer Ludwig Göransson, Archie Davis and music supervisor Dave Jordan have produced the soundtrack, which will be released digitally this Friday, November 4. Rihanna announced today that she has recorded an original song for Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The track, entitled Lift Me Up, is written by Tems, Academy Award winner Ludwig Göransson, Rihanna herself and director Ryan Coogler. Göransson also produced the song, which was recorded in five countries and will be released as a digital single this Friday, October 28 by Roc Nation Records, Def Jam Recordings & Hollywood Records. A 3-track prologue single for the movie has previously been released this past summer.

Hollywood Records & Marvel Music have the first tracks from the soundtrack for Marvel Studios’ upcoming feature Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The 3-track Wakanda Forever Prologue single features the cover of Bob Marley’s No Woman No Cry performed by Nigerian singer Tems (as featured in the movie’s first teaser trailer), as well as A Body, A Coffin by amaarae and Soy by Santa Fe Klan. The film’s composer Ludwig Göransson produced all three songs and also co-wrote A Body, A Coffin with Kyu Steed, KZ, Cracker Mallo, Maesu & Amaarae. Ludwig Göransson to Return for Ryan Coogler’s ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’
Ludwig Göransson (The Mandalorian, Tenet, Creed, Venom, Community) has revealed in a recent interview with Variety that he has started work on his score for Marvel Studios’ upcoming sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The film is directed by Ryan Coogler and stars Lupita Nyong’o, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett and Dominique Thorne. No plot details have been announced yet. Coogler also co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Robert Cole (The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story, All Day and a Night).
