Four new movies opened nationwide on Christmas Day:

Opening in most theaters is the drama Unbroken directed by Angelina Jolie and starring Jack O’Connell, Domhnall Gleeson, Miyavi, Garrett Hedlund and Finn Wittrock. The film’s original music is composed by Alexandre Desplat (The King’s Speech, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Queen, The Grand Budapest Hotel). Parlophone Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as the original song Miracles performed by Coldplay. Also opening wide is the film adaptation of the Broadway musical Into the Woods directed by Rob Marshall and starring Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, James Corden, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Tracey Ullman, Christine Baranski and Johnny Depp. The movie features songs composed by Stephen Sondheim (Sweeney Todd). Walt Disney Records has released two different soundtrack albums for the film featuring the songs performed by the movie’s cast. ‘American Sniper’ Features Music by Clint Eastwood and Ennio Morricone

Clint Eastwood has composed Taya’s Theme, the main theme music for his upcoming war drama American Sniper. The movie also features additional music by Joseph DeBeasi who serves as the music editor on the project. Also featured over the end credits sequence of the film is the track The Funeral from the 1965 western The Return of Ringo composed by Ennio Morricone. American Sniper stars Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller, Jake McDorman, Luke Grimes, Navid Negahan and Keir O’Donnell. The movie tells the story of Chris Kyle, the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history with the nickname “Legend” and 160 confirmed kills. Jason Hall (Paranoia, Spread) has written the screenplay based on Kyle’s autobiography.

‘Jersey Boys’ Soundtrack Details

Rhino Records will release the official soundtrack album for Clint Eastwood’s movie adaptation of Jersey Boys. The album features the songs from the film and the Broadway musical written by Bob Gaudio and featuring lyrics by Bob Crewe, including Sherry, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Walk Like a Man, Dawn, Rag Doll, Bye Bye Baby and Who Loves You. Also included are original recordings by Frankie Vallie & The Four Seasons. The soundtrack will be released on June 24, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Jersey Boys based on the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical stars John Lloyd Young, Erich Bergen, Michael Lomenda, Vincent Piazza and Christopher Walken. The movie follows four young men from the wrong side of the tracks in New Jersey who came together to form the iconic 1960s rock group The Four Seasons. The musical will be released nationwide on June 20 by Warner Bros. Pictures.

‘Trouble with the Curve’ to Feature Music by Marco Beltrami

Marco Beltrami is currently scoring the drama Trouble with the Curve. The film is directed by Robert Lorenz and stars Clint Eastwood as an aging baseball scout who is losing his sight and takes a road trip to Atlanta with his daughter to take a look at a hot prospect. Amy Adams, Justin Timberlake, John Goodman, Matthew Lillard and Scott Eastwood are also starring. Robert Brown wrote the film’s script. The project marks the directorial debut of Lorenz who has previously produced most of Eastwood’s movies over the last decade including Mystic River, Letters from Iwo Jima and Gran Torino. Lorenz and Eastwood are also producing the drama for Malpaso Productions. Trouble with the Curve is set to be released on September 28, 2012 by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Three new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:

Expected to top the weekend box office is the 3D action adventure Immortals directed by Tarsem Singh and starring Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke, Stephen Dorff, Isabel Lucas, Freida Pinto, Luke Evans, Kellan Lutz and John Hurt. The film’s music is composed by Trevor Morris. Relativity Music Group has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Edgar directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Naomi Watts, Armie Hammer, Judi Dench, Stephen Root, Josh Lucas, Dermot Mulroney and Jeffrey Donovan. Eastwood has also written the score for the film. No soundtrack album has been announced, but the score can be listened to on Warner Bros’ Awards website. Clint Eastwood Scoring ‘J. Edgar’

Clint Eastwood has recently recorded his original music for his latest directorial effort J. Edgar. The orchestral score was recorded at the Eastwood Scoring Stage at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California. J. Edgar stars Leonardo DiCaprio as J. Edgar Hoover, head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for nearly 50 years. Naomi Watts, Armie Hammer, Judi Dench, Stephen Root, Josh Lucas, Dermot Mulroney and Jeffrey Donovan are co-starring. The biopic is written by Dustin Lance Black (Milk). Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13) is producing with Eastwood and Robert Lorenz (Gran Torino, Changeling).
