Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for the BBC crime drama The Jetty. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed byTim Morrish (One Day, Fifteen-Love, Brassic, Red Rose). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, October 18 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The Jetty is created and written by Cat Jones and stars Jenna Coleman, Tom Glynn-Carney, Archie Renaux, Ruby Stokes, Laura Marcus, Bo Bragason and Weruche Opia. The 4-parter follows a Detective who must figure out how a fire that tears through a property in a scenic Lancashire town is connected to a podcast journalist investigating a missing persons cold case and an illicit relationship between a man and two underage girls.

Expanded ‘Walking with Beasts’ Soundtrack Album Released
Overtone Music has released a new soundtrack album for the 2001 nature documentary series Walking with Beasts created by Tim Haines, Jasper James & Andrew Wilks, produced by BBC Science Unit and narrated by Kenneth Branagh (in its original version) and Stockard Channing (in the U.S. version). The album features the original score from the show composed by Ben Bartlett (The Tunnel, Vera, Lucan, The Loch) and performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra, including previously unreleased music. Carly Paradis Scoring BBC’s ‘Showtrial’ Season 2
Carly Paradis (The Innocents, The Rising, Line of Duty, Typist Artist Pirate King, Sick Note, Whitstable Pearl, Prime Suspect 1973) has been tapped to score the second season of the BBC drama Showtrial. The show is created by Ben Richards (The Tunnel, Cobra) and stars Adeel Akhtar, Nathalie Armin, Michael Socha, Fisayo Akinade, Joe Dempsie, Zoë Telford, Ali Khan, Nina Toussaint-White, John Light, John Marquez, Anna Wilson-Jones and Francesca Annis. The 5-part thriller centers on the death of a high-profile climate activist from in a violent hit and run who uses his dying moments to apparently identify his killer – a serving policeman.
‘Walking with Dinosaurs’ 25th Anniversary Edition Soundtrack Album Released
Overtone Music has released a digital version of the soundtrack album for the 1999 documentary series Walking with Dinosaurs created by Tim Haines, produced by BBC Science Unit and narrated by Kenneth Branagh (in its original version) and Avery Brooks (in the U.S. version). The album features the original score from the show composed by Ben Bartlett (The Tunnel, Vera, The Loch, Lucan), including three additional tracks. The 25th Anniversary soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and most other major digital music services), where you can also check out the track list. BBC Records has previously released the original 1999 soundtrack album on CD.

Murray Gold Scoring BBC’s & PBS’ ‘Moonflower Murders’
Murray Gold (Doctor Who, Torchwood, Gentleman Jack, Dead Ringers, A Very English Scandal, It’s a Sin, Quiz) is returning to score the new PBS Masterpiece/BBC drama Moonflower Murders. The sequel to 2022’s Magpie Murders (scored by Gold) is written by Anthony Horowitz (Alex Rider, New Blood) based on his own bestselling novel of the same title and stars Lesley Manville & Timothy McMullan who reprise their roles of Susan Ryeland & Atticus Pünd from the original series, as well as Mark Gatiss, Rosalie Craig, Daniel Mays, Claire Rushbrook, Pippa Bennett-Warner, Conleth Hill, Matthew Beard, Adrian Rawlins and Sanjeev Kohli.
Tommy Reilly Scoring BBC’s ‘Nightsleeper’
Tommy Reilly (Anna and the Apocalypse, Our Ladies, Dinosaur) is making his solo television scoring debut on the new BBC drama Nightsleeper. The show is created by Nick Leather (Murdered for Being Different, The Control Room) and stars Alexandra Roach, Joe Cole, Alex Ferns, James Cosmo, Sharon Small, David Threlfall, Lois Chimimba, Daniel Cahill, Gabriel Howell, Leah MacRae, Katie Leung, Scott Reid, Ruth Madeley, Pamela Nomvete, Adam Mitchell, Sharon Rooney and Parth Thakerar. The 6-part thriller follows an off-duty police officer who is a passenger on a train that gets ‘hackjacked’ while traveling from Glasgow to London and has to work together with the acting technical director at the National Cyber Security Centre to work out who is behind this.
Hans Zimmer & Kara Talve to Compose Music for BBC’s ‘Lord of the Flies’ TV Series
BBC announced today that Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Dune, Inception, The Lion King) and Kara Talve (Prehistoric Planet, Faraway Downs, The Simpsons) for Bleeding Fingers Music are set to compose the music for the upcoming BBC/Stan original drama Lord of the Flies. The show is developed by Jack Thorne (His Dark Materials, Enola Holmes) based on William Golding’s classic novel of the same title and stars David McKenna, Winston Sawyers, Lox Pratt, Isaac Talbut, Thomas Connor, Noah & Cassius Flemyn, Cornelius Brandreth and Tom Page-Turner. The series directed by Marc Munden (Utopia, The Third Day) tells the story of a group of young schoolchildren who find themselves stranded on a tropical island with no adults, following a deadly plane crash.
Devonté Hynes Scoring BBC’s ‘The Listeners’
Devonté Hynes(aka Blood Orange) (Queen & Slim, We Are Who We Are, Master Gardener, Palo Alto, Passing, Mainstream) is the composer of the upcoming BBC drama The Listeners. The show is written by Jordan Tannahill based on his novel of the same title and stars Rebecca Hall, Prasanna Puwanarajah, Gayle Rankin, Mia Tharia, Amr Waked, Ollie West, Franc Ashman, Karen Henthorn, Samuel Edward-Cook, Lucy Sheen and Ian Mercer. The series directed by Janicza Bravo (Zola) revolves around a popular English teacher who begins to hear a low humming sound that no one else around her can hear and strikes up an unlikely and intimate friendship with a student of hers who can also hear the sound.
Aardman Animations’ ‘Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl’ to Feature Music by Lorne Balfe
Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout & Dead Reckoning, Black Widow, Top Gun: Maverick, Black Adam, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, Bad Boys for Life, His Dark Materials) is composing music for the upcoming Netflix animated film Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl. The film is directed by Nick Park (Chicken Run, Early Man) & Merlin Crossingham and features the voices of Ben Whitehead, Peter Kay, Reece Shearsmith, Lauren Patel, Diane Morgan, Adjoa Andoh and Muzz. The movie follows Gromit as he gets concerned that Wallace is becoming too dependent on his inventions, when Wallace invents a “smart” gnome that seems to develop a mind of its own.
