WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album for the HBO original series The Nevers. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first six episodes composed by Emmy Award winner and Academy Award nominee Mark Isham (Crash, A River Runs Through It, Once Upon a Time, Miracle, Warrior, The Accountant, Judas and the Black Messiah). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. The Nevers is created by Joss Whedon and stars Laura Donnelly, Ann Skelly, Olivia Williams, James Norton, Tom Riley, Eleanor Tomlinson, Rochelle Neil, Amy Manson, Denis O’Hare, Pip Torrens, Zackary Momoh, Elizabeth Berrington, Anna Devlin, Kiran Sonia Sawar, Viola Prettejohn, Ella Smith, Nick Frost and Ben Chaplin. Gaute Storaas (A Man Called Ove, The Last King, Nina’s Children, Victoria) has recently scored the upcoming Swedish Netflix original film Dancing Queens. The movie is directed by Helena Bergström (Mending Hugo’s Heart, Holy Mess) and stars Molly Nutley, Marie Göranzon, Claes Malmberg, Rakel Wärmländer, Christopher Wollter, Ann Westin, Mattias Nordkvist, Max Ulveson, Razmus Nyström, Emil Almén, André Christenson, Fredrik Robertsson, Louie Indriana, Robert Fux, Dominika Peczynski and Fredrik Quiñones. The comedy drama revolves around a dancer who gets a job cleaning at a struggling drag club dreams of being in the show, when her talent catches an ambitious choreographer’s eye. Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British mini-series Death and Nightingales adapted and directed by Allan Cubitt and starring Matthew Rhys, Jamie Dornan and Ann Skelly. The show’s original music is composed by David Holmes (Ocean’s 11, Out of Sight, Haywire, Killing Eve, Logan Lucky, Ordinary Love, Analyze That) and Gerry Diver (Pixie). The 3-part drama, which tells a story of love, betrayal and revenge set in the haunting countryside of Northern Ireland in 1885, premiered in the UK in 2018 on BBC Two (and in Ireland on RTÉ One) and is making its U.S. debut on Starz.

Also premiering tonight is the Starz original series Run the World created by Leigh Davenport and starring Bresha Webb, Amber Stevens West, Corbin Reid, Tonya Pinkins, Andrea Bordeaux, Stephen Bishop, Tosin Morohunfola, Erika Alexander, Jay Walker and Nick Sagar. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album for the Disney Junior animated series The Chicken Squad. The album features the original songs from the first episodes of the show composed by Alex Geringas (Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, Arlo the Alligator Boy, Woody Woodpecker) and Mike Himelstein (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse). Five new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:

Opening in most theaters is the Saw reboot Spiral directed by Darren Lynn Bousman and starring Chris Rock, Samuel L. Jackson, Max Minghella and Marisol Nichols. The film’s original score is composed by Charlie Clouser (Resident Evil: ExtinctionNumbers, Death Sentence) who has written the music for all previous Saw movies. Also opening wide is the thriller Those Who Wish Me Dead directed by Taylor Sheridan and starring Angelina Jolie, Nicholas Hoult, Finn Little, Medina Senghore, Tyler Perry, Aiden Gillen, Jake Weber and Jon Bernthal. Walt Disney Records has released the first songs from the soundtrack of the second season of the Disney+ original series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Available to stream/download is the High School Musical 2 Medley and Something in the Air performed by the show’s cast and The Perfect Gift & Bet On It performed by Joshua Bassett. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album for the British comedy drama Limbo. The album features the film’s original music composed by Hutch Demouilpied (The Levelling). Also included is a track by Khyam Allami. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio clips. Limbo is written and directed by Ben Sharrock and stars Amir El-Masry, Vikash Bhai, Kwabena Ansah Sidse Babett Knudsen, Ola Orebiyi and Kais Nashif. The details of the score album for the horror movie Spiral have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Charlie Clouser (Resident Evil: Extinction, Numbers, Wayward Pines, Death Sentence, Dead Silence) who scored all previous eight movies in the Saw series. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, May 21 by Lakeshore Records and is now available for pre-order here. A separate soundtrack EP featuring the songs from the movie is being released today by Slaughter Gang & Epic Records. Spiral is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman and stars Chris Rock, Max Minghella, Marisol Nichols and Samuel L. Jackson. The movie follows an esteemed police veteran, a brash detective and his rookie partner as they take charge of an investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. The album features a selection of the songs from the show’s first season by artists such as Bobby Womack, Arcade Fire, Blood Orange, Air Supply, Kilo Kish, Amandla Stenberg, Charlotte Day Wilson, Santigold, The Last Artful, Dodger and Ai Bendr. Also included are the original songs All For Us by Labrinth & Zendaya (from the season finale) and Lo Vas A Olvidar by Billie Eilish & ROSALÍA (from last year’s special episode Part 2: Jules), both of which have previously been released as a digital single. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon.
