Riva Media Records has released a soundtrack album for the Dutch historical drama The Forgotten Battle (De Slag om de Schelde). The album features the film’s original music composed by Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch (Rocks, Censor, Only You, Tiger Orange). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. The Forgotten Battle is directed by Matthijs van Heijningen and stars Gijs Blom, Susan Radder, Jamie Flatters and Tom Felton. Today, BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc) announced its 37th annual Film, TV & Visual Media Awards celebrating the top-performing composers in film, TV and visual media of the previous year. Among the honorees, which were revealed across BMI’s social media and digital platforms, are Atli Örvarsson who received six awards for NBC’s Chicago P.D., Chicago Med and Chicago Fire, CBS’ FBI and FBI: Most Wanted, and the Apple TV+ limited series series Defending Jacob, Mark Mothersbaugh who was honored with five BMI Awards for Bravo’s Dirty John, FX’s What We Do in the Shadows, Netflix’s Tiger King and the features The Willoughbys and The Croods: A New Age, as well as Mark Isham who earned four crystals this year for his work on the movies Judas and the Black Messiah, Honest Thief, Togo and the Hulu series Little Fires Everywhere. The show is developed by Andrew Haigh (Lean on Pete, 45 Years, Weekend) based on the best-selling novel by Ian McGuirand and stars Jack O’Connell, Colin Farrell, Stephen Graham, Peter Mullan, Sam Spruell and Roland Møller. The 5-part drama is set in Hull, England, and on the ice floes of the Arctic in the late 1850s and tells the story of a disgraced ex-army surgeon who signs up as the ship’s doctor on a whaling expedition to the Arctic. WATT Musikverlag has released a soundtrack album for the German fantasy comedy Catweazle. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Philipp Noll (Dreamfactory). Also included are the movie’s theme songs by lead actor Otto Waalkes. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on most major German digital music services. The only movie opening nationwide this week is the superhero movie’ Black Widow directed by Cate Shortland and starring Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour and Rachel Weisz. The film’s original music is composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, His Dark Materials, The LEGO Batman Movie, Bad Boys for Life, The Crown,The Tomorrow War). Hollywood Records and Marvel Music have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Opening in select U.S. theaters and on VOD today is the French sci-fi horror thriller Meander (Meandre) written and directed by Mathieu Turi and starring Gaïa Weiss, Peter Franzen and Romane Libert. Frédéric Poirier (Hostile) has composed the film’s original music. YASCORE has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past May when the movie opened in French theaters.
