Milan Records will release the official soundtrack album for the drama The Tragedy of Macbeth. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Carter Burwell (Carol, Fargo, True Grit, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Twilight, Burn After Reading, The Morning Show). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, January 14 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The Tragedy of Macbeth is written and directed by Joel Coen and stars Denzel Washington, Frances McDormand, Corey Hawkins, Brendan Gleeson and Harry Melling. The movie based on Williams Shakespeare’s play follows a Scottish lord who becomes convinced by a trio of witches that he is destined to become king of Scotland and goes to extreme and violent lengths to seize the crown. 440Hz has released a soundtrack EP for the French drama Between Two Worlds (Ouistreham). The 5-track EP features the film’s original score composed by Mathieu Lamboley (Lupin, A Minuscule Adventure, Sisters in Arms, The Last Mercenary, Lolo, Return of the Hero). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. Between Two Worlds is co-written and directed by Emmanuel Carrère and stars Juliette Binoche, Hélène Lambert, Léa Carne, Emily Madeleine, Patricia Prieur and Evelyne Porée. Earlier this month, Aska Matsumiya (Skate Kitchen, Bruised, I’m Your Woman, Betty, Selah and the Spades) has recorded her score for the upcoming documentary Phoenix Rising. The film is directed by Amy Berg (Deliver Us from Evil, West of Memphis, The Case Against Adnan Syed) and follows actress and activist Evan Rachel Wood and the coalition she builds at The Phoenix Act, tracking the political and community focus the actor has established in the aftermath of her experience and trauma as a domestic violence survivor. This longlisting round was introduced last year resulting in three rounds of voting.
