Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack for the FX limited series Under the Banner of Heaven. The album features music from and inspired by the show composed by Pearl Jam co-founder and bassist Jeff Ament, former Red Hot Chilli Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer (as Pluralone), together with Fitz and the Tantrums drummer/songwriter John Wicks and Josh Evans. The soundtrack will be released digitally this June. Vangelis (born as Evángelos Odysséas Papathanassíou) has passed away at age 79 in France. The Greek composer has scored numerous films, including Hugh Hudson’s 1981 drama Chariots of Fire, for which he won the Academy Award and also received a Grammy Award nomination, Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner, for which he was BAFTA- and Golden Globe-nominated and Scott’s 1492: Conquest of Paradise, for which he earned another Golden Globe nomination. His other film scoring credits include Costa-Gavras’ Missing, Koreyoshi Kurahara’s Antarctica, Roger Donaldson’s The Bounty, Roman Polanski’s Bitter Moon and Oliver Stone’s Alexander. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ben Salisbury Geoff Barrow (Ex Machina, Annihilation, Devs, Archive 81Luce, HannaFree Fire). The album features the movie’s original music composed by Malakoff Kowalski (Klappe Cowboy!, Berlin für Helden). A Stasi Comedy is written and directed by Leander Haussmann and stars David Kross, Henry Hübchen, Jörg Schüttauf, Deleila Piasko, Antonia Bill and Tom Schilling. The comedy is set in Communist East Berlin during the early 1980s and tells the story of a man who is hired by the Stasi to infiltrate a subversive countercultural movement and ends up living two lives – one as an underground poet and one as a Stasi agent.
