The full details of the soundtrack album for the FX limited series Under the Banner of Heaven have been revealed. The album features selections of the original music from the show written by Pearl Jam co-founder Jeff Ament, former Red Hot Chilli Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer (as Pluralone), together with Fitz and the Tantrums drummer & songwriter John Wicks and Josh Evans. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, June 10 by Hollywood Records and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Three first tracks have already been released as a digital single last month. Under the Banner of Heaven is created by Dustin Lance Black and stars Andrew Garfield, Sam Worthington, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Denise Gough, Wyatt Russell, Gil Birmingham, Billy Howle, Rory Culkin, Adelaide Clemens, Chloe Pirrie, Seth Numrich and Sandra Seacat.

Pearl Jam co-founder and bassist Jeff Ament (with former Red Hot Chilli Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer and Fitz and the Tantrums drummer/songwriter John Wicks) has composed the original music for the new FX limited series Under the Banner of Heaven. The show is created by Dustin Lance Black (Milk, When We Rise) and stars Andrew Garfield, Sam Worthington, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Denise Gough, Wyatt Russell, Gil Birmingham, Billy Howle, Adelaide Clemens, Rory Culkin, Chloe Pirrie, Seth Numrich and Sandra Seacat. The drama is inspired by the true crime bestseller by Jon Krakauer and follows Detective Jeb Pyre as he investigates the events that led to the 1984 murder of Brenda Wright Lafferty and her baby daughter in a suburb in the Salt Lake Valley, Utah.
Soundtrack Album for ABC’s ‘When We Rise’ Announced
Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the ABC mini-series When We Rise. The album features a selection of cover songs from the 8-hour event by such artists as Jordan Fisher, Fancy, Brandi Carlile and Zella Day. Also included is a suite from the drama’s original score composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Alice in Wonderland) and Chris Bacon (Source Code, Bates Motel). The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 24, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Chris Bacon to Score ABC’s ‘When We Rise’
Chris Bacon has revealed in a recent interview with TV Goodness that he is currently scoring the upcoming ABC mini-series When We Rise. The show is created by Dustin Lance Black (Milk, J. Edgar) and stars Guy Pearce, Mary Louise Parker, Rosie O’Donnell, Michael K. Williams, Whoopi Goldberg, Rachel Griffiths, Dylan Walsh, Kevin McHale and Ivory Aquino. The period drama tells the history of the gay rights movement, starting with the Stonewall Riots in 1969. Black is also executive producing the ABC Studios production with Larry Mark (Jerry Maguire, I, Robot) and Bruce Cohen (American Beauty, Silver Linings Playbook, Big Fish). Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting, Milk) is directing the first two episodes and Black, Dee Rees (Bessie, Pariah) and Thomas Schlamme (The West Wing) are directing the other episodes of the 8-part series.
‘Virginia’ Soundtrack Details
Cicero Recordings will be releasing a soundtrack album for Dustin Lance Black’s drama Virginia. The album features the film’s music composed by Nick Urata (Crazy, Stupid, Love, I Love You Phillip Morris). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 18, 2012 and is available to download on Amazon. Audio clips from the score can be checked out after the jump. Virginia marks the directorial debut of the Academy Award-winning writer (Milk) and stars Jennifer Connelly, Ed Harris, Emma Roberts and Toby Jones. The film revolves around single mother who struggles to raise her son while dreaming of escaping her small Southern boardwalk town and is mucking up the state senate campaign of a sheriff with whom she’s long had an affair. The drama will be released in select cities this Friday, May 18.
Nick Urata to Score ‘Grassroots’
Nick Urata has been tapped to write the music for the upcoming political comedy Grassroots. The film is directed by Stephen Gyllenhaal (Homegrown, Losing Isaiah) and stars Jason Biggs (American Pie), Joel David Moore (Avatar), Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother), Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under), Christopher McDonald (Requiem for a Dream), Tom Arnold and Cedric the Entertainer. The movie centers on a journalist, who, after losing his job, reluctantly agrees to help his oddball friend with his bid to earn a seat on the Seattle City Council. Grassroots is produced by Peggy Rajski (The Grifters).
