Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the romantic comedy Fire Island. The album features the film’s original score composed by Jay Wadley (I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Indignation, Swan Song, I Carry You with Me, Olympic Dreams, Tales from the City). The soundtrack will be released digitally on Friday, June 3 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Fire Island is directed by Andrew Ahn and stars Joel Kim Booster (who also wrote the screenplay), Bowen Yang, Zane Phillips, Tomas Matos, James Scully, Matt Rogers, Nick Adams, Conrad Ricamora, Torian Miller and Margaret Cho. The Pride and Prejudice-inspired movie follows two best friends who set out to have a legendary week-long summer vacation with the help of cheap rosé and a cadre of eclectic friends. Mark Korven (The Witch, The Lighthouse, Cube, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, Them, The Terror: Infamy) has composed the original music for the upcoming horror thriller The Black Phone. The film is directed by Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange, The Exorcism of Emily Rose) and stars Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies and James Ransone. The movie is based on the short story by Joe Hill from his New York Times bestseller 20th Century Ghosts and follows a shy but clever 13-year-old boy who is abducted by a sadistic killer and trapped in a soundproof basement, where he discovers that he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims through a disconnected phone on the wall. The full details of the soundtrack album for the Disney+ original movie Hollywood Stargirl have been revealed. The album features the songs from the film performed by lead actress Grace VanderWaal and other cast members, including the original songs Figure It Out co-written by VanderWaal herself and Heaven Knows written by the show’s executive music producer Michael Penn (Girls), as well as covers of Blondie’s Dreaming, Brian Wilson’s Love and Mercy and Cass Elliot’s Make Your Own Kind of Music. Also included is the original song Miracle Mile written by Penn and performed by Z Berg, a cover of Penn’s No Myth performed by Jasmine Ash & Peter Adams, as well as the movie’s original score composed by Rob Simonsen (Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Love, Simon, The Way Back, The Adam Project, Nerve, The Age of Adeline) and Duncan Blickenstaff (Alex, Inc., LA to Vegas).
