Premiering on Wednesday, November 30, is the Disney+ original series Willow developed by Jonathan Kasdan & Wendy Mericle based on the 1988 feature and starring Warwick Davis, Ruby Cruz, Ellie Bamber, Erin Kellyman, Tony Revolori, Dempsey Bryk, Amar Chadha-Patel and Joanne Whalley. The show’s original music is composed by James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, The Sixth Sense, King Kong, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) & Xander Rodzinski (Dead for a Dollar, Light & Magic). Premiering on Thursday, December 1, is the HBO Max original movie A Hollywood Christmas directed by Alex Ranarivelo and starring Jessika Van, Josh Swickard, Missi Pyle and Anissa Borrego. Jamie Christopherson (A California Christmas, Running Wild, Perfect Harmony, Bennett’s War, American Wrestler: The Wizard, The Ride) has composed the film’s original music. The romantic comedy, which follows a young filmmaker in Hollywood who has made a name for herself directing Christmas movies and her relationship with a network executive, will be available to stream exclusively on HBO Max. ‘Missile from the East’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for the documentary Missile from the East. The album features the film’s original music composed by Benji Merrison (SAS: Red Notice, The Beatles and India, General Magic) & Will Slater (Dynasties, The Green Planet). The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 9. Check back on this page for the streaming/download link. Missile from the East is directed by Justin Stokes and tells the true story of champion East German motorcycle racer Ernst Degner who risked his and his family’s life to defect to West Germany during the Swedish Grand Prix in 1961, taking MZ’s groundbreaking engine technology with him and helping Suzuki win its first Grand Prix Championship. ‘Mickey Saves Christmas’ Soundtrack EP Released

Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack EP for Disney’s stop-motion holiday special Mickey Saves Christmas. The 5-track EP features the original songs from the special written by Laura Schein and Ben Zeadman (Honor Society) and a cover of the Christmas carol Up on the Housetop. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Listen to all five songs below. Mickey Saves Christmas is directed by David H. Brooks and stars real-life couple Brock Powell and Camryn Grimes. The Disney Branded Television production follows Mickey and his friends must travel to the North Pole to save Christmas when Pluto’s attempts to play fetch accidentally cause Santa to crash his sleigh and lose all the presents. Opening in theaters nationwide this week is the animated feature Strange World directed by Don Hall, co-directed by Qui Nguyen and starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Dennis Quaid, Jaboukie Young-White and Gabrielle Union. The film’s original music composed by Henry Jackman (Wreck-It-Ralph, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Big Hero 6, X-Men: First Class, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as an original song written by Jackman & Kevin Del Aguila earlier this week. Also opening nationwide this week is the war drama Devotion directed by J.D. Dillard and starring Jonathan Majors, Glen Powell, Christina Jackson, Thomas Sadoski and Joe Jonas. Chanda Dancy (The Defeated, I Wanna Dance with Somebody,  Aftershock) has composed the film’s original score. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music last Friday (click here for the full album details). Netflix Music has released the first soundtrack album for the streamer’s South African original series Blood & Water. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s third season composed by Mr Kamera. Also included is the drama’s theme song by Mr Kamera & Frya (previously released as a digital single in 2020). DreamWorks Animation Premieres New Logo Sequence Featuring Music by Harry Gregson-Williams

DreamWorks Animation has premiered the studios’ new animated logo sequence, which will be first seen in front of its latest animated feature Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, which is receiving sneak preview showings in select theaters this Saturday, November 26 and is set to be released in theaters on December 21. Harry Gregson-Williams (The Martian, The Chronicles of Narnia, Kingdom of Heaven, Man on Fire) has composed the sequence’s music, which features his (and John Powell’s) theme from the original 2001 Shrek movie and was also used in the studios’ previous logo sequence. The album features the film’s original music composed by Raffertie (aka Benjamin Stefanski) (White Dragon, Bull, Zone 414, Alex Rider). One Way is directed by Andrew Baird and stars Colson Baker, Storm Reid, Kevin Bacon, Drea de Matteo, Travis Fimmel, Meagan Holder and Luis “Trikz” Da Silva Jr. The movie revolves around a man on the run with a one way ticket to salvage what is left of his crime-ridden life. La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1989 comedy The ‘Burbs directed by Joe Dante and starring Tom Hanks, Bruce Dern, Carrie Fisher, Rick Ducommun and Corey Feldman. The album features the expanded and remastered original score from the film composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Gremlins, Chinatown, Total Recall, The Mummy, L.A. Silva Screen Records has announced the world premiere commercial soundtrack release for the 1964 British sci-fi series Stingray created by Gerry & Sylvia Anderson and starring Ray Barrett, Robert Easton, Don Mason, David Graham and Lois Maxwell. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Barry Gray (UFO, Thunderbirds, Space: 1999, Supercar, Fireball XL55, The Secret Service, Captain Scarlet). ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ 25th Anniversary Expanded Edition Soundtrack Album Announced

La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1997 James Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies directed by Roger Spottiswoode and starring Pierce Brosnan, Jonathan Pryce, Michelle Yeoh, Teri Hatcher and Judi Dench. The 2-CD set features the expanded and remastered original score from the MGM production composed by David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale, Die Another Day, Stargate, Sherlock, Quantum of Solace), including previously unreleased music, as well as the opening and closing titles songs, Tomorrow Never Dies performed by Sheryl Crow and Surrender performed by k.d. lang, and alternate score and source cues. The 25th Anniversary Edition soundtrack is limited to 5,000 copies and will be available to order on La-La Land’s official website at 12:00pm PST on November 29. Read the rest of this entry »
