Varèse Sarabande has announced a new collectible picture disc edition of the score album for the 2003 holiday classic Elf directed by Jon Favreau and starring Will Ferrell, James Caan, Mary Steenburgen, Ed Asner, Bob Newhar and Zooey Deschanel. The album, which features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award nominee John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Iron Man 2, Hocus Pocus, The Jungle Book,The Emperor’s New Groove, Bruce Almighty), will be released on September 25 and is now available for pre-order here. The label has also announced a reissue of the expanded 44-track deluxe edition of the score, which is being released as an Encore Edition and will be available for the first time as a digital album on October 16. Corday Productions has released a new soundtrack album for the soap opera Days of Our Lives. The album features selections of the original score from the show composed by Ken Corday & D. Brent Nelson. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. La-La Land Records has previously released a 2-CD set featuring selections of the composers’ music from the drama back in 2010. A digital soundtrack featuring their score from the spinoff series Beyond Salem was released in 2022. Days of Our Lives created by Betty & Ted Corday is set in the fictional Midwestern town Salem and follows the intertwined lives, love stories and suspenseful adventures of the town’s residents. Warner Records has announced a “companion” soundtrack album for the Linkin Park documentary Unshatter. The album features a selection of the rock band’s career-spanning live tracks recorded at the FROM ZERO album release show in November 2024 in São Paulo, Brazil.
