‘1985’ Soundtrack Album Released

VRT MZK has released a soundtrack album for the Belgian TV series 1985. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Jeroen Swinnen (The Twelve, Before We Die) & David Martijn (War of the Worlds, De Dag). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. 1985 is created by Willem Wallyn and stars Tijmen Govaerts, Mona Mina Leon and Aimé Claeys. The Eyeworks Film & TV Drama production is set against the backdrop of Belgium’s most notorious unsolved crime spree and follows three friends who move from their hometown to Brussels, where they find themselves caught up in police corruption and the rise of the brutal Nijvel gang. Dino Meneghin (Lore, Dota: Dragon’s Blood, Eye Candy, Killing Gunther) is the composer of the new Paramount+ original series Wolf Pack. The show is developed by Jeff Davis (Criminal Minds) based on the book series by Edo Van Belkom and stars Armani Jackson, Bella Shepard, Tyler Lawrence Gray, Chloe Rose Robertson, Rodrigo Santoro and Sarah Michelle Gellar. The supernatural teen drama follows a teenage boy and girl whose lives are changed forever when a California wildfire awakens a terrifying supernatural creature and drives it to attack a highway traffic jam beneath the burning hills. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the thriller Missing directed by Will Merrick & Nick Johnson and starring Storm Reid, Nia Long, Ken Leung, Joaquim de Almeida, Amy Landecker and Daniel Henney. The film’s original music composed by Julian Scherle (Princess of the Row, Heart of the ChampionsBuried: The 1982 Alpine Meadows Avalanche). Sony Masterworks/Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Opening semi-wide in around 500 theaters this week following an awards-qualifying run last November is the drama The Son co-written and directed by Florian Zeller and starring Hugh Jackman, Laura Dern, Zen McGrath Vanessa Kirby and Anthony Hopkins. Hans Zimmer (Inception, The Lion King, Gladiator, DuneThe Dark Knight) has composed the film’s original music. A new soundtrack EP has been released for the 1988 sci-fi/fantasy horror sequel Phantasm II directed by Don Coscarelli and starring James LeGros, Reggie Bannister, Angus Scrimm, Paula Irvine and Samantha Phillips. The 5-track EP features the film’s original composed by Fred Myrow & Malcolm Seagrave and produced & arranged by Christopher L. Stone. The five tracks have previously been released on a soundtrack CD, which also includes Myrow’s & Seagrave’s score from the original 1979 Phantasm movie, from Silva Screen Records back in 1991. Christopher Bear & Daniel Rossen (of the indie rock band Grizzly Bear) have teamed up to score the upcoming drama Past Lives. The film is written and directed by Celine Song and stars Greta Lee, Teo Yoo and John Magaro. The movie follows two deeply connected childhood friends whose relationship ended abruptly when one of their families emigrated from South Korea to Canada as they reunite in New York two decades later and confront notions of destiny and love. Steven Spielberg has revealed at the UK premiere of the director’s latest feature, The Fabelmans, earlier this week that is currently working on a documentary about his long-time collaborator John Williams. THR is reporting that the film centering on the Academy Award-winning composer of Star Wars, Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T., Jurassic Park & Schindler’s List will be directed by Laurent Bouzereau who has previously produced hundreds of behind-the-scenes featurettes for movies directed by Spielberg and others. The album features the film’s original music composed by Mathieu Lamboley (LupinA Minuscule Adventure, The Last Mercenary, Sisters in Arms, The Accusation, The Rose Maker). Categorical Records will release the first-ever soundtrack album for the 2015 documentary The Champions. The album features the film’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Carnivale, Rome, Pollock, Monk, The Biggest Little Farm, Blackfish). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, January 27 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Champions is directed by Darcy Dennett and tells the story of the pit bulls rescued from the brutal fighting ring of Atlanta Falcon’s star quarterback Michael Vick, and those who risked it all to save them, despite pressure from The Humane Society and PETA to euthanize the dogs.
